Plan the ultimate weekend getaway to St. Thomas, Ontario with this 2-day itinerary! Located about a 20-minute drive south of London, Ontario, St. Thomas was founded in 1881 and was an important railway junction. Its location made it the primary stop along the Canadian shortcut between Detroit and Buffalo, and grew to see 26 railways pass through during the 19th and 20th century, thus earning the name Railway Capital of Canada.

Today, the trains no longer pass through St. Thomas but its railway heritage is woven into the culture of the city and is proudly on display. From historic buildings to green spaces, friends, families, and especially railway aficionados will all enjoy a weekend visit.

Introducing Prince Edward County, or “The County” as most folks living there would refer to it.
It's a quick little day trip from Toronto and is as picturesque as a Norman Rockwell painting.

Why go to The County?

Do you like food? Of course you do! PEC has been called “the gastronomic Capital of Ontario”. There are so many restaurants and cafés to choose from. East and Main ( consistently comes up as one of the best places to eat in Wellington. Hipsters swear by the food at Drake Devonshire ( And if you like wood fired pizza, most wineries now include this delicious offering on their menus. (Jon & Cheryl have always said that you shouldn’t trust someone who doesn’t like pizza.)

Do you like antiques? PEC is a wonderland of shops filled with dead people’s stuff. Our favourite was Dead People’s Stuff (

Do you like wine? Tyrion Lannister himself would approve of the plethora of wineries. From the larger Sandbanks Winery ( and Huff Estates ( to the smaller Rosehall Run ( there are too many others to list here. (Just ask for a nice Dornish Red.)

Prince Edward County Weekend | Shot In 4K

Welcome to Prince Edward County, Ontario. My family lives here and Bryon and I decided to spend the weekend here. We hung out at the Sandbanks, Prince Eddy's Brewery, Sand and Pearl Raw Bar, Slickers Ice Cream, shops on Main Street in Bloomfield, Midtown Brewery, Main Street Wellington and my parents' house too! We also took our stand up paddle boards to Wellington Beach on one of the calmest days I've seen. It was so beautiful.

I plan on doing a full video on Prince Edward County so I can show you guys more of the County from a local's perspective. This video is just a snapshot of our weekend :)

The Old Third Vineyard Prince Edward County

This winery specializes in high end Pinot Noir. It is housed in a barn built near the end of the 19th Century. It was completely restored during the winter of 2006. The winery is located in the Hillier area of the County.

Estate Sale Finds ~ ON THE ROAD Mayville NY Amish Horse & Buggy Sighting Renaissance Chess Set

Was fun to get back on the roat to an estate sale. Estate sales are my favorite thing to do. Keeps me living.

Great ride as the leaves have changed colors (ITS FALL). Short ride to Mayville, NY.

There is a large Amish community in this area and happened to get a great shot of a horse & buggy (always cool to see). Unique for people that live in cities or urban areas that don't believe people still use this transportation.

Lots of stuff to look out and I picked out a few things I liked.

Tour Of Creemore Springs Brewery : Beerumentary Series Part 1/2 : Albino Rhino Beer Review

A tour of Creemore Springs Brewing Company. Creemore has been the topic of much debate since the take over by Molson. Are they still craft, are they not? Well after spending a good deal of time in the building all I can say is the only thing that I saw that no other craft brewery we have been in thus far uses is the filtration system going.

The brew house is big, the computer system is sophisticated but both have been seen in other breweries.....the people are real, they are passionate and they are very friendly. I would suggest anyone that has not been there before go and take a moment or two to see the amazing brewery and chat to the awesome people behind the brews.
