Ringers of the Kimberley
In the Kimberley young men leave home to become ringers out on the backblocks of stations like Mulla Bulla. It’s a tough life. Getting up at 3am and in bed on dusk. They spend all day in the saddle and get a feed of beef before going to bed under the stars.

A horse walks into a bar... and other tall stories ???????? | Back Roads
The Black Stump Hotel in Merriwagga NSW has a bar so high you can ride your horse in and not leave the saddle while drinking your beer. Back Roads presenter Heather Ewart thinks it is all a set-up but there is another reason for the height of the countertop, and it could just all be about occupational health and safety.
ABC TV’s much-loved series with a big heart, Back Roads takes viewers to more of Australia’s interesting and resilient regional communities. These towns are full of colourful characters whose grit and good humour continue to uplift and inspire. abc.net.au/backroads

What does Kangaroo Meat Taste Like | Australia Travel Vlog | 26N11D18
Trying Kangaroo Meat for the First Time | Melbourne Travel Vlog
You are watching one of my Australia travel videos, and today I am trying Kangaroo meat for the first time in Melbourne, Australia.
In Australia, Kangaroo meat is common and widely available in supermarkets, but it’s not that easy to find in restaurants. I didn’t find many restaurants had Kangaroo meat items in Melbourne and Sydney.
I picked up some Kangaroo meat in the supermarket and my host cooked them at home.
Kangaroo meat tastes like kinda beef, but it’s more chewy, fibery texture, and has a stronger flavour. I would say it’s more like buffalo meat than beef, but not dry. And it turns out to be darker than any other meat I have seen.
In the next few videos, I will be sharing my experiences in Australia with you. Please experience the beautiful Australia with me.

Shooting Cats: Australia's War on Feral Cats
WARNING: This video contains graphic content.
In Shooting Cats, VICE set out to explore the consequences of Australia's feral cat plague, and confront the uncomfortable and violent realities of dealing with it. Most suburban Australians give feral cats little thought. But for residents of the country’s rural fringes, they’re a diabolical pest and scourge on wildlife. Found in 99 percent of Australia, they’re estimated to kill more than two million native animals a day. That devastation has seen Kangaroo Island local Barry Green declare a personal war against cats; trapping and skinning them, before turning them into hats and fridge magnets.

Kangaroo Manor Yarra Valley Ranges
Everyone is stunned by the magnificent view. This magical hexagonal glass-and-sandstone house takes full advantage of its hillside position, isolated on 40 acres in the Yarra Valley, just one hour from Melbourne and yet lost in a wildlife paradise.
Driving up the kilometer long gum-lined driveway, past our gorgeous kangaroos you enter a magical private very-Australian world.
Visit the markets and charming Warburton, tour the Yarra Valley wineries or ride or walk the bike trails.
Many just stay to enjoy the magic with wine and cheese, swim the enormous horizon swimming pool, pat the horses, play with the two golden retrievers, (Gilbert and Sullivan) or walk on our river as well as the endless joy of feeding our tame kangaroo, Brynne and her Joey.
Drink wine on the deck and barbecue the delicious local fare. The property has a number of charming surprises like a historical gold mine, a secret pine forest and a kangaroo sleeping woodland. Take a koala walk or go on a platypus hunt and you are sure to see wombats right outside your room in the evening.
Immerse yourself in the perfect Australian experience you will never be able to forget.

Horse Protects Rancher From Cows As He Tags Calves
ID: 1588224
MANDATORY CREDIT - Scott Warren
An intelligent horse helped a rancher tag his calves by protecting him from their nervous mother.
Stallion Red did a great job of keeping the cows away from ranch managers Scott Warren and Jose Ibarra as the two worked on their homestead in Clinton, North Carolina on January 16.
As Jose grabbed the young and held them to the ground, Red stood between him and the cows and even kicked at them as they nervously tried to get back towards their youngsters.
Scott said: “There are only two of us on the ranch, so we train the horses to stay between us and the cows because we can’t always be there for each other.
