Luxury Home For Sale Carmel Indiana near Indianapolis IN by Selling with No Reserve at Absolute Auction August 13th.
Elegance and luxury await savvy buyers at Sophisticated Sherbern, a spacious Traditional American home in the distinguished city of Carmel, Indiana – named the Best Place to Live in America by Money Magazine in 2012. This incredible home sits on 1.29 landscaped park-like acres, and offers spacious comfort and exquisite details that envelop you in luxury and grandeur. As you arrive via the circular drive, the sentry-like turrets that watch over the front entrance are merely the first hint of the incredible beauty and refinement that await inside.
Just off the foyer a distinguished library and study awaits through French doors; it’s full of rich wood paneling, bookshelves, and exotic marble inlays. Marvel at the coffered ceiling and an elegant, mantled fireplace with carved lion and claw foot details.
For casual living, the first floor features a spacious everyday dining room, kitchen, and living room that flow seamlessly together. Recessed lighting, abundant windows, and French doors combine to attract your loved ones to this perfect family area. If that isn’t enough to draw your family together, the scent of a delicious meal prepared in the master chef’s kitchen will most certainly entice them. Separated only by a breakfast bar and squared columns, this spacious kitchen has everything you need to create the perfect meal. Adjoining the kitchen is a butler’s pantry, home office, spacious laundry, and mud room; each has abundant cabinetry for additional storage.
Descend the rich hardwood staircase with an elegant iron banister to arrive on soft carpet as this glorious lower level opens up before your eyes. French doors open onto a lower, walk-out, covered patio that leads to the pool. It is here that the in-home theatre showcases a 100-foot Onyx screen, 7:1 surround sound, a ceiling-mounted projector, and seating for the whole family. During intermission, indulge in a treat from the nearby, custom-built ice cream parlor and bar, or relax beside the fireplace. Work out in the home gymnasium and rejuvenate in the spa room, complete with full bathroom, hydrotherapy steam unit, Bain-Ultra jetted tub, and an 8-person sauna. A family game and recreational room is the perfect place for some fun, and completes this lower level.
A sparkling Gunite Activity pool stretches out before you and a raised Pergola deck emerges beyond. Here is where you can enter the water-park style water slide and splash into the crystal clear pool, or if you prefer, go for a dip in the bubbling sauna.
A separate coach house provides further luxury and convenience, including a bathroom, recreation room, and wet room for pool guests. Abundant pool storage and direct access to private community fishing ponds add to the convenience. Plus, a second heated garage adds to the parking capacity of the estate, for a total of five enclosed spaces that can accommodate up to seven vehicles. Of course, guests will find parking along the exposed aggregate drive easy as well.
Sophisticated Sherbern is located in the affluent community of Clay West Estates in Carmel, and when you walk through the Village Center of West Clay, you’ll feel like you’re in a small town. The Palladium concert hall is located just minutes from the property, where you can enjoy a symphony at the 1,600-seat venue. Other options include plays at Tarkington and Studio theaters, or one of 40 garage bands playing around town during the free PorchFest music festival. The fun continues at the Carmel Arts and Design District and Monon Waterpark. Experience the outdoors by hiking Monon Trail or visiting one of the many parks, including Coxhall Gardens and Flowing Well, Meadowlark, and River Road parks.
Just 30 minutes away lies the heart of Downtown Indianapolis, a bustling metropolis that’s one of the easiest cities to travel to. Known as the “Crossroads of America,” more interstate highways go through Indianapolis than any other city in the U.S. Easily commute to one of hundreds of corporate headquarters, like Brightpoint or Anthem Inc.

Taltree Arboretum and Gardens, Valparaiso, Indiana
Until recently, Taltree Arboretum & Gardens has been one of northwest Indianas best kept secrets but now it's one that we want to share with the rest of Chicagoland! Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is on a mission to improve the quality of life for the south Lake Michigan region by preserving green space through the establishment and maintenance of woody plant collections, landscaped presentation gardens, prairie restoration and wetland conservation.
Since its inception by the Gabis Family in 1998, Taltree Arboretum & Gardens has grown to become a wonderland natural fascination. Originally our mission led us in simply restoring natural areas, but by creating the Native Plant Garden with a certified Monarch Waystation, developing the scentual Hitz Rose Garden, building the Joseph E. Meyer Memorial Pavilion for events, and construction of a new Railway Garden historical attraction slated to open in the spring of 2011, were looking forward to the dynamic development of the Arboretum so that it will remain for future generations as an important resource for all to enjoy.
Today, our natural areas and display gardens also fulfill a research and education need in northwest Indiana unmatched by any other local non-profit natural area outside of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and regional universities. Residents of the south Lake Michigan region may engage nature at Taltree through artistic, cultural, educational and historical events so that they may participate in and gain appreciation for preserving our natural heritage. Come on in!

Background:
This area has been part of the redevelopment plan of Mayor Jim Brainard to work with the Carmel Redevelopment Commission to transform Old Town Carmel from a run down and very neglected part of town into the vibrant and thriving Carmel Arts & Design District, while maintaining the area's historic charm. Before the real work could begin on the District, Mayor Brainard invested more than $10 million on adding storm sewers, curbs, sidewalks with brick accents, historic-style street lighting, improved streets and water mains to ensure that the Old Town neighborhood was brought up to Carmel standards. After those upgrades were complete, the redevelopment efforts intensified to bring galleries, unique shops, restaurants and the Indiana Design Center to the Arts & Design District.
To show their commitment to identifying the Old Town area as the Arts & Design District, the City installed archways over the main entrances to the district. The newly created district logo was added to street lights further branding the area and reminding visitors they were enjoying the Carmel Arts & Design District. Eventually, flower baskets, flower boxes at windows, benches, out door sculptures and bump out curb dining complemented the experience in the district.
Throughout the redevelopment of this area, the City has used public private partnerships to encourage investment by the private sector in the area. The City identified the best areas for redevelopment, purchased and combined small lots and combined them and made them ready for development, and created a plan for the area so that the private sector could come in and begin work more easily.
Today, the Carmel Arts & Design District is home to more that 11 distinct galleries, unique shops, boutiques, antique dealers, and restaurants for every palate. The vibrant night life in the District includes a wine tasting experience, live music, neighborhood pubs and even comedy nights.
Residential Options:
While the neighborhood in and around the Arts & Design District continues to thrive, additional residential options have added to the constant vibrancy of the area including condos and apartments above some of the commercial space and along the Monon Greenway, which runs through the heart of the District.
A Sound Investment:
The Arts & Design District continues to grow and offer more and more amenities for residents and visitors. We hope you enjoy this area that has truly been transformed into one of Carmel's most successful redevelopment projects.
