Check out SIT's 2017 set in The Lab LDN:
Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia formed their collaborative SIT project in 2009, and over the past eight years have established themselves among the foremost duos in electronic music.
The pair are revered for crafting vast, hypnotic worlds in their music that elevate listeners to transcendent heights. The release of the debut SIT album ‘Sideways’ in 2015 on their Amphia imprint was a landmark record for the global minimal techno scene, comprising tour de force productions such as ‘Angels’, which became a dancefloor phenomenon across Europe. As DJs they’re equally accomplished, spinning trippy, entrancing sets.
Hosted in the Romanian seaside city of Constanța, Neversea combines a breath-taking location with first-rate musical programming.
Cantacuzino Castle | Romania 4K
Cantacuzino Castle from Busteni , of a great architectonic , historic and artistic value, was built and inaugurated in 1911 at the wish of Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino (also known as “the Nabob”-prime minister of Romania between 1899-1900 and 1904-1907).
The castle, built in neo-romanian style, is surrounded by a park who’s alleys take you to the grotto, cascades and fountains. The Reception Hall houses a unique collection of heraldry in Romania. The building made of bricks and stone according to the plans of Grigore Cerchez, is built in a neo-romanian style and stretches over a surface of 3148sqm.
The decorations give the interior a strong romantic ambiance .The stained glasses , the stucco marble , the cantilevers , the exposed painted ceilings , the wooden , stone or forged iron handrails, the iron work cast in brass and richly decorated are exquisitely crafted. The fireplaces made of white stone and bearing poly-chrome mosaics complete the atmosphere of a manorial residence, increasing the value of the building.
The castle holds an unique collection representing the coat of arms of the boyar families related to the Cantacuzino family members of the Wallachian side.

** LO! **
Look and Behold /
Metal/Sludge/Hardcore / Sydney / Pelagic Records
Lo! are a heavy quartet from Sydney, Australia for fans of Breach, Old Man Gloom, Converge, etc.
Akin to the way a volcano can lie dormant for years before unexpectedly unleashing it’s mighty wrath on everything within reach, Sydney band Lo! kept a pretty low profile, until their thunderous debut in 2010.
Conceived in 2006 by guitarist Carl Whitbread after the disbanding of his previous band Omerata, Lo! is made up of four “old hands” of the Sydney music scene. Adrian Shapiro on bass, Adrian Griffin on drums and Sam Dillon is the man delivering the militant vocal assault that has heads talking.
Lo! toured Europe in 2013 supporting Swedish band Cult of Luna and Germans The Ocean. They also played slots on the incredible Roadburn in Holland, Asymmetry Festival in Poland and Impetus Festival in France.
In Australia, Lo! have shared the stage with countless amazing local bands across the country and have supported internationals such as Doomriders, Russian Circles, Eyehategod, Burning Love, The Ocean, In Flames, Trivium, Torche, Red Fang, High on Fire and Palm to name some.
Word travels fast, and the band’s cleverly crafted, sludge-inspired metal found it’s way to Germany and into the ears of Pelagic Records owner Robin Staps, who was quick to offer the band a deal. Early reviews coming out of Europe suggest that although Lo! follow bands like Old Man Gloom on their path down the dirt-trail of sludgy, noisy hardcore, the band has their own distinct, and fresh direction.

CRISTI CONS & VLAD CAIA aka SIT in The Lab LDN: Neversea Takeover
Mixmag & Coors Light present The Neversea Festival takeover
The Soundsystem? Void.
The Mixer? Master Sounds Radius 4:
More on Neversea Festival:
The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
This Thursday we welcome Romanian minimal masters SIT into The Lab LDN for a special Neversea festival takeover.
This summer SIT will play at a brand new festival in their home country, Neversea, which takes place across July 7 to 9. Hosted in the Romanian seaside city of Constanța, Neversea combines a breath-taking location with first-rate musical programming, with the likes of Nina Kraviz, Sven Väth and DJ Sprinkles also locked in to perform across its seven beach stages, including the impressive The Temple structure.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased via Neversea’s website.
In the lead up to the festival SIT will helm an undoubtedly mind-blowing 90 minute set in The Lab LDN to whet our appetites for Neversea. The live stream starts at 5:30pm BST this Thursday, May 18. You can tune in live over on our Facebook page and re-watch on MixmagTV from 7pm BST.

Generations divided amidst Romania mass protests
(23 Feb 2017) Video editor Mihnea Lupan lives just around the corner from his mother, but their views on the massive anti-corruption protests shaking Romania are miles apart.
Since late January, when tens of thousands first took to the streets to protest a government decree that decriminalised some official misconduct, Lupan and his mother, Valentina, have been at loggerheads.
Fights over politics dominate their visits instead of home-cooked meals and pleasantries.
Valentina Lupan, a retired architect, occasionally shouts at her 34-year-old son during an emotionally charged two-way that started within minutes of his entering the apartment where his parents and aunt live.
The demonstrations, the largest in Romania since a 1989 revolution led to the execution of the communist leader, have been a nightly occurrence for three consecutive weeks now.
During that time, they have exposed a sharp generational divide between citizens who grew up, built careers and started families under communism and those who came of age a decade after the country moved to a free market economy and a multiparty system.
Most of the protesters are on the younger side.
Through travel, jobs at foreign companies and the internet, they feel closer to the West than their parents. They speak languages besides Romanian, and some have worked in countries with higher wages and less overt corruption.
Valentina, 65, is sceptical about the motives of the anti-government protesters, including her son.
She thinks they were lured by financial incentives or told to demonstrate by the multinational companies they work for, echoing the news channels she watches.
As a young architect, she crafted wooden and metal doors for the giant palace of President Nicolae Ceausescu, the communist leader executed in 1989, and insists she has never paid a bribe to secure a contract.
She says byzantine legislation, not outright deceit, is to blame for official corruption.
Why weren't they out in the streets to protest against illegal logging on a large scale?, she asks her son during the heated exchange that had her worrying about her blood pressure. So they didn't protest against (that) or the stray dogs' issue?
In the quiet of his apartment, Lupan attributed his mother's frustrations to a loss of earnings in recent years, adding that the news channels she watches have indoctrinated her.
Despite their differences, Lupan remains convinced that Romania needs to make steady progress towards reform.
