Visit to a beautiful authentic Hakka Village in Shenzhen.
We had an amazing opportunity to try on a real Kilin Dance Dragon head! It was incredibly warm with more than 40 degrees Celcius, but we enoyed it no matter what :)

Hakka House Museum (鹤湖新居) Tour
The Hakka Village Museum (鹤湖新居) is located by Crane Lake in the Longgang district of Shenzhen. It consists of a whole Hakka residence which also acts as a museum about the culture and history. It has a website that can be accessed within China; szlgkjbwg.com. The entrance fee is 10 rmb.
To get to the museum you can take the metro line 3 to Nanlian station and take Exit C1 then follow the signs.

The Squid Man of Shenzen
A short visit to Shenzen China, just across the border from Hong Kong. I went to visit a Hakka Village caled Crane Lake. The Hakka are one of the main ethnic groups in southern China. The suburb of Laotjie, where I stayed, is like a giant shopping mall and, in one of the many alley ways was a place to buy food - especially squid in a peppery sauce cooked on a hotplate. The outlets were in competition with each other and one guy goes all out to attract attention.
