Red Wolf Red Rust Vessel 16x48 - Colour Shift
Working on honeycomb aluminum, Wolf etches the subject into the surface of the material. Complex combinations of grinding metal, film and the use of glazes achieves an illumination. These materials are latticed with three-dimensional patterns that diffract the full spectrum of white light to create brilliantly reflected colours. The results are an optical effect from these particles, opposed to pigments of colour. A crystal clear resin is then applied to the surface. “Research in Photonics, Material Science and Physics that I can assimilate and find an application of through my own hands is a driving force for me as an artist.
