A Walk at the Creston Valley Wildlife Centre in British Columbia
What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time.
It was a perfectly gorgeous autumn day to go for a walk and talk about what was on my heart. Should one REALLY experience disappointment? I would propose not if you have a relationship with God.

MV Anscomb ferry leaving from Kootenay Bay ca 1950s
The Kootenay Lake ferry runs from Kootenay Lake to Balfour, a crossing of 8 kilometers. The MV Anscomb served this route from 1947 to 2000.
Till 1963 there was no road through the Kootenay Pass from Creston to Salmo which meant this ferry was a core link for the southern Trans-Provincial highway. So at the time of this film all the traffic from the West Kootenays to the East Kootenays had to use this ferry link.
The ferry was named for Herbert Anscomb. He was a member of the 1941 to 1951 Coalition government as a Conservative. From 1946 to 1952 he was the leader of the Conservatives.

Haulin Mass: Highway 3A to Kootenay Bay
Took a side trip up twisty Highway 3A to Kootenay Bay Ferry to hop over to Kaslo for lunch and a visit to the Moyie Museum. ---Click SHOW MORE---
Thanks to the Pacbrake I only used my brake pedal twice this entire trip... Once for the brake check and once to come to a full stop at the ferry terminal. I cannot say enough good things about the Pacbrake. While the driver of the Toyota in front of me kept riding his brakes, making large steering inputs, crossed the line a bunch of times... (I think that poor truck was overloaded.) I had a nice safe and relaxed drive.
The van weighs about 3760Kg/8289Lbs (Weighed at the Cranbrook transfer station) in current trim and load, that's where I got the Haulin Mass title from. That van is heavy!! ;-P

Golden Centennaires Creston BC.mpg
July 14, 1967: The Golden Centennaires perform over Creston, BC
A crowd of approximately 2,500 people saw the 25-minute air show over the rodeo grounds. Eight gold planes performed a series of manoeuvres, including formation flying, inside and outside loops, wing-overs, falling leaves, and inverted flights, as well as a breathtaking aerobatic duet.
The Golden Centennaires were an RCAF aerobatic team formed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Canadian confederation. They flew 100 demonstrations during the centennial year, all over Canada. Of the shows in BC, Creston was the only one in the Kootenays - no doubt because the squadron leader, Clarence B. Lang, was from nearby Lister. In fact, as the formation flew over the Lang house at about 8:15 AM on the Friday morning of the air show, the eight planes dipped their wings in salute to CB's parents.
The team was disbanded after their season, but seven of the planes went on to be used in the Snowbirds.
Canadian Pacific Holiday Train 2019
Canadian Pacific Holiday Train 2019
Recorded on 12/2/19
We have continued a yearly tradition of heading out trackside to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. We made an early morning visit to Bensenville, IL before returning out trackside a few hours later where we worked hard to follow the train up to Sturtevant, WI late into the evening. Special thanks to the Canadian Pacific Railroad and to the cities that provided the opportunity to make stops at. As promised, we did include voiceover in this video. Join our team as we followed the train through the CP C&M Subdivision. Enjoy the show!
