Channelglaze Story @ The Crick Boat Show
The Crick Boat Show and waterways festival is an event which has been held annually at Crick Marina in Northamptonshire, England. The show offers opportunities for boatbuilders and sellers to market new and second-hand boats to those interested in buying a boat, as well as those looking for ideas for boat interiors or fittings. A series of seminars were held, covering subjects such as the launch of the Canal & River Trust, boat maintenance and canal restoration. In addition to boat-related activities, which included rides on several trip boats, there was a beer tent, twenty bands performing over the four days, and a Victorian fairground offering free rides to children.
Crick Boat Show 2019 - Britain's Largest Inland Waterways Festival
The 20th anniversary of the largest Inland Waterways Festival in the country was held over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend between 24th and 27th May 2019. This is a great opportunity for prospective boat owners to view new boats, have a boat handling session, attend informative seminars and find out about inland Marinas. The event includes free boat trips, live music, real ale festival, boating marquee, food and craft tent, chandlers, food court, clothes retailers and a whole host of varied and interesting exhibitors including the Canal and River Trust and Inland Waterways Association.
This video takes an in depth look at the Show and what it has to offer. Boating activity starts from the canal towpath, before I’ve even entered the showground! Unfortunately, I had to cut out some live music I recorded because of a copyright issue.
‘Boat Tubers’ I met up with were Floating Our Boat, Cruising The Cut, Journey with Jono, Negatively Buoyant, London Boat Girl and Weir on the Move. Julie Weir was also exhibiting her art work – link below.

176. The Crick Show 2019 (Inland waterways / narrowboats / canals)
I haven't been to the Crick Show for a couple of years because it's much the same each time but this year I wanted to book some boat tours and also buy some bits for my current boat - so I moored the boat again and headed off to Northamptonshire in the camper van.

187. The £40million canal restoration in central England
A few weeks ago, I cruised past what remains of the Lichfield canal, now used by the Lichfield Cruising Club, and mentioned that the canal is under restoration. In this vlog I've been to meet the team who are heading up that restoration and see the scale of the works underway.

This short film features various Narrowboats as they enter and exit the south end of the Crick Tunnel on the Grand Union Canal.

A walk along the towpath is a gentle reminder of past history, of different times, and of different, easier folk who enjoy life at the proper pace.

Crick Boat Show 2017
Crick Boat Show is the largest annual gathering of boats on Britain's inland waterways. On show are boats for sale from boat builders, chandlers, canal societies and a host of other stuff. Beers from numerous breweries and live music can also be enjoyed here, ideal if you are able to stop the whole weekend. Bands shown are T-Rextasy (T-Rex tribute) and Fleetwood Bac (Fleetwood Mac tribute) with Murphy's Marbles (Irish music) playing out at the end. Sorry about the sound of the bands being somewhat distorted but then there is the copyright to consider.
