Bear with me as this is my first time vlogging/filming a hike!
A short, 25-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay lies Bowen Island. After reaching Snug Cove Terminal, a 3km walk takes you through Crippen Regional Park to the trail head.
It's a steady climb to the top, with only one viewpoint between the peak and your start, but the hike is worth the view. Mount Gardner's peaks boasts views of both sides of the island: Sunshine Coast, Keats Island, the Sea to Sky Highway, West Van, UBC, and more!

IN THE METROPOLITAN SHADOW: BOWEN ISLAND - JACK LITTLE
SFU Professor Emeritus Jack Little describes the history of Bowen Island. Part of the traditional territory of the Squamish people, Bowen is the Gulf Island nearest Vancouver. In the early twentieth century some of Vancouver’s wealthiest families established summer retreats on the island; and for over half a century each summer weekend hundreds of families boarded steamships in Coal Harbour for day trips to the picnic grounds of Snug Cove. In the 1950s a car ferry introduced commuters to Bowen, making city ties tighter than ever, but in 1969 a developer’s plan to convert the Snug Cove area into a densely settled suburb opened a protracted debate that revealed conflicting visions of the island’s future. The tension between preserving Bowen Island as a retreat from the city and giving in to metropolitan development pressures persists to the present day.

My hiking seems endless! It was beautiful sunny day for a day trip to hike Mt. Gardner in Bowen Island, BC Canada.
It is intermediate level with elev gain 715m, 6hr, 17km. 在加拿大BC省, 乘渡轮去博文岛. 登山峰 17公里，拔高715米，6小时完成
We took ferry to Bowen Island, passed Crippen Regional Park and Killarney Lake to trail head to hike Mt. Gardner. This trail was easy for me, only near top may required rope collaboration.
The view was beautiful. The top has hydro station and helicopter landing platform. The most enjoyable moment is taking ferry with a clear view of mountains and ocean.
Bowen island also has a memorial garden with beautiful flower plants.
We finished with relaxing at restaurant, tried their best clam chowder.
I will come back again, very relaxing! It is for anyone who wants to get away from city life. They have bike trails and sea shells picking.

The BEST Feature Of Bowen Island (1080 HD)
What an incredible day trip this was! To ferry across with two people and a car it cost us 25$ round trip! Which I think is very reasonable. Overall I can't recommend this place enough. Go check it out!!!
