Sydney Dive - The steps Cronulla
A great day Scuba diving in the Southern Sydney suburb of Cronulla, Kamay Botany Bay National Park - Cape Solander Dr, Kurnell 2231. This dive site named The Steps is difficult to access but is offering an untouched sea life. During these two dives of 13 meters average, we saw the star of South Australia; the Weedy Sea Dragon ( a beautiful Port Jackson Shark ( a lot of other colourful friends and finished our adventure with an amazing encounter: A huge Bull ray.
Super journée de plongée dans le sud de Sydney à Cronulla, Kamay Botany Bay National Park - Cape Solander Dr, Kurnell 2231. Ce site de plongée dénommé The Steps est difficile d’accès, comme son nom l’indique, mais offre une vie marine intacte. Au cours de ces deux plongées de 13 mètres de profondeur en moyenne, nous avons vu le fameux Dragon de Mer, star de l’Australie du Sud ( un superbe Requin Port Jackson ( plein d’autres poissons colorés et nous avons terminé notre balade avec une extraordinaire rencontre ; une immense Raie (Bull Ray).

For several years Ive been coming to Sydney for work and this was the best stay yet. The apartment was really quiet, the bed was very comfortable, it had all the amenities that youd possibly want, and it has the most spectacular view of the ocean and the Cronulla beach imaginable. The wave crashing on beach sound in the background was nothing short of therapeutic... I will stay here every time I come back, if its available. I loved it!

Cronulla Cinema, cafes, restaurants and shops are here for your pleasure. Catch the ferry to the sleepy village of Bundeena and its smaller neighbour, Maianbar, unspoilt hideaways that draw many visitors eager to enjoy their timeless charms. Bush-walk through the nation's oldest park - the Royal National Park. Explore Sydney Tram Museum. Visit the Kurnell Peninsula - it was here, in 1770, that Captain James Cook first set foot on Australia, claiming the continent for Britain. There are plenty of attractions under the water for diving or snorkeling fans. Lean To Surf at North Cronulla Beach. All the surf beaches at Cronulla have been dedicated as Australia's 5th National Surf Reserve. The first 4 National Surf Reserves were Bells Beach, Angourie, Crescent Head and Lennox Head. Kayak or SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) the Port Hacking and Woronora Rivers. With horse riding, ten pin bowling, rock climbing, children's indoor play areas, museums and galleries, Leisure centres, more cinemas and golf courses near by, it is sure to keep you entertained from start to finish.

One of the most common questions we get asked by divers doing their Open Water course is where will we be diving during our training? One of the best things about diving in Sydney is our easy access to such a wide range of fantastic dive sites. Being in Ramsgate, we are lucky enough to be almost in the centre of most of Sydney's most popular sites - only a 15-20 minute drive to areas such as Cronulla, Bare Island & Kurnell National Park. The most common sites are Bass & Flinders, Oak Park, and Bare Island.

Kurnell is a suburb in Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 21.4 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire along the east coast.
Visit Kamay Botany Bay National Park to see Captain Cook's landing place at Kurnell. The heritage-listed site is an important place in Australia's history.
If you're driving into the Kurnell area of Kamay Botany Bay National Park please note that gates are open:
7am-7.30pm (August to May)
7am-5.30pm (June to July)
In 1770, Lieutenant (later Captain) James Cook landed at Botany Bay’s Inscription Point. He and his Endeavour crew stayed in the area for eight days and had a dramatic impact on Australian history.
Located near Silver Beach on the Kurnell Peninsula headland, Cook’s landing place is a popular Sydney attraction. Now heritage-listed, this reserve interprets the story of the meeting of European and Aboriginal cultures.
Visit Kamay Botany Bay National Park to discover Captain Cook’s landing place yourself. The best way to get there is along the Burrawang walk that features a soundscape of Aboriginal children's laughter. As you pass over the dune you'll see views of the bay where the Endeavour was first sighted. A small plaque marks the location where Captain Cook landed.
