Fire @ 4080 114 Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick - 28 August 2013
Residential Structure Fire @ 4080 Rte 114 , in Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick at approx 1900 hr - Wed, August 28, 2013. Hillsborough Fire Depart initial response, and dispatched Riverside-Albert and Alma Fire Departments on initial dispatch. Occupant was alerted to fire in the attached garage/shed in the rear of the property and evacuated, by a passerby. Property was over 100 years old and heavily damaged. Metal roof created challenges in ventilation, and ultimately required an excavator to remove steel roofing. Over 30 volunteer firefighters with 8 pieces of apparatus responded and remained on scene for over 6 hours. Also note in video, smoke detector still sounding over 2 hours into the incident with power shut off. CHANGE YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR BATTERIES WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS !!
