Abandoned Lighthouse at Crookhaven Heads NSW (Australia)

Abandoned Lighthouse at Crookhaven Heads on the New South Wales south coast near Culburra Beach. It was built in 1904 to replace an 1882 wooden structure. It could be seen up to 11 kilometres away. Apparently in the 1980s it was converted to solar power, but its steel mesh revolving light cage is now missing. A local said they thought it was removed and placed in storage to guard against vandals. It was restored in the 1990s but the vandals have generally wrecked the building. Much graffiti.

An electronic light on a nearby pole now serves as the warning light.
