Keswick, Hope park, walk along by Derwentwater and up to Castlehead.
Hope park has attractive landscaped grounds with a stream, garden and woodland walk. It has developed considerably since 1925 when the land was used for grazing the railway coach-horses. Sir Percy Hope owned the land and began developing it into a miniature golf course. It was opened on 27th May 1927.
Castlehead stands at 250ft. An impressive view can be seen down the length of Derwentwater towards Borrowdale and the highest mountains in england.

Prince Charles celebrates Lake District’s World Heritage Site Status
Prince Charles celebrates Lake District’s World Heritage Site Status.
THE PRINCE OF WALES was the guest of honour at a special community event to mark the Lake District receiving World Heritage Site status. The region joined sites including the Taj Mahal, the Grand Canyon and Stonehenge on the respected list last summer.
A Unesco committee in Krakow, Poland, backed the national park in Cumbria – home to England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike – which was among 33 nominations all over the world.
Prince Charles unveiled the official Unesco plaque in a ceremony at Crow Park, in Keswick, which overlooks Derwent Water.

World Heritage UNESCO plaque by Prince Charles
As His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, unveiled a special installation to mark the National Park’s World Heritage inscription, he hailed future opportunities for the Lakes.
Greeted by cheering crowds, early spring sunshine and more than 500 schoolchildren at Crow Park, Keswick, the Prince said he hoped UNESCO’s recognition would help local businesses and draw more investment to the region.

Derwentwater Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Keswick Club Site is a two-minute walk from this site with water-based activities on Derwentwater.
Our lovely little Derwentwater Club Site is nestled between Skiddaw and Derwentwater in the north of the Lake District and is enticingly close to the pretty market town of Keswick. In fact, pull on your walking boots and you’ll be in the centre in just minutes.
It’s easy to see why Keswick is the major centre for tourism in the region with its many varied shops, restaurants and museums, not to mention the lure of water and the hills.
The National Trust’s Crow Park and Hope Park are close to the campsite. The latter offers crazy golf and a putting course. Enjoy low level walking around Derwentwater’s shores or if you want more of a challenge Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Striding Edge and Blencathra are close by. Head to the Keswick launch and hop on board a cruise boat for a 50 minute tour of the lake or jump off at one of the seven lakeshore jetties. The Cumberland Pencil Museum, the Keswick Brewing Company and the Theatre by the Lake are all worth visiting.
