Join us on a voyage to the most remote reefs in Australia’s great oceans, pacific islands and beyond. devour a world of shipwreck history, treasure hunting and extraordinary wildlife.
Filmed in glorious 4K so to get the best experience turn the quality all the way up to its highest setting. Look for the gear icon on the bottom right of the video. Our films are best viewed on a 4K TV or computer monitor (2160p youtube setting), you will feel like you're right there with us!
This is just one episode of the Barefoot Captain and his crew’s many adventures. This is just the start of many short films I will post documenting our expeditions aboard my 40 foot sailing catamaran “Barefoot” to remote parts of the Coral Sea and beyond.
This is our most epic expedition yet, we will be sailing over 8000nm to the most remote reefs in this part of the Pacific ocean and beyond to Vanuatu and New Caledonia. We encounter Sharks, Whales and plenty of Sea Snakes, explore deserted coral islands teeming with birds and find centuary's old shipwrecks. Dive for our dinner and endure breakdowns and engine failures. All part of the fun that is living lives of no fixed address.
A little background – My name is Dean Cropp, I have “hacked life”, sold the house and quit my day job to follow the legendary course of my ocean adventurer father Ben Cropp. Continuing my fathers legacy to re-visit the shipwrecks and wild places he found 50 years ago.
This motley crew of 6 love to sail, film and explore. We have started right here in Australia’s Coral Sea. We look for the wildest, most remote and unknown locations to explore, you wont find many of these places in any tourist guide or even most sailing books.
I have been a cameraman and Director of Photography for almost 20 years and I specialise in underwater Cinematography. Most of my crew are also photographers, divers and camera nerds too. So this is us on our time off, doing what we love, filming our adventures all in 4K and all for you!!! I hope you enjoy it!

Narooma Spearfishing 08/01/14
At the river mouth. Sunday morning, October 13, 2019.
Wow! Absolutely magical morning here in Noosa. Everyone was out and about early enjoying the beautiful conditions. Clear blue skies and a light 3 to 5 knot southerly breeze blowing at the river mouth. Some lovely little sets coming through over the bar and on Main Beach for the board riders with plenty of flat spots for the boaties to exploit. Lots of bait in the water being worked by a pod of dolphins just outside the bar. You wouldn't be dead for quids. Filmed between 5.50am and 6.40am which was roughly an hour before a 1.7m high tide. 4. Various of Indian boat builder Maneck Contractor driving his boat into the sea
5. Mid of boat racing
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Maneck Contractor, Indian boat builder:
Its a great opportunity. I think today because a boat show like this gives us a lot of exposure and a lot of awareness to the market that we can make quality which is matched to that of the imported products. And we have already a lot of foreign boat builders wanting to actually come into India and use the opportunity of cheap labour and good craftsmanship to built boats here for export.

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Barry A Wilson, Australian boat manufacturer
Its a matter of educating the market , showing them what can be done so we have tried to show here the kind of things you can do with a boat - the bar-b-que , the wine , the refrigerator go out for a day on the water and enjoy yourself. The more people that understand this, the bigger the market will become.
13.SOUNDBITE (English) David Pyle, Sales director, Princess yachts:
There is definitely something beginning to start here. There is no infrastructure yet in support of the products so its going be a slower start, but we can see this market moving over the next probably one to five years and then its going to be an extremely important market for companies such as ourselves.
14. Various of boats on display
15. Man demonstrating canoe
16. Various people using remote controls to operate dummy boats
17. Indian industrialist Adi Godrej at the boat show
18. Indian industrialist Gautam Singhania at the boat show (in blue shirt and tie)
19. SOUNDBITE (English) Ramesh Kundanmal, buyer:
I believe India is a booming market , it is an excellent market. More than anyone can believe it. Nobody believed that India could be a good car market - look what's happened to the car market. Its booming. This is what's going to happen to the boats. Its only a matter of time.
20.Various of motor boats and yachts
LEAD IN:
Global marine manufacturers are eyeing India's financial capital as their next big market.
At Mumbai's first international boat show (22- 25 February, 2007), visitors got a taste of the opulent hi-life as dozens of motor boats and sleek-bodied luxury yachts lined up to entice them.
STORYLINE:
Clearly targeting India's top net-worth individuals , nearly 50 boat manufacturers showcased their wares at the event.
The main event was held in the exhibition grounds of Bandra-Kurla Complex.
More than 20 luxury yachts and boats were displayed on the waters opposite the Gateway of India .
Organisers say nearly 100 powerboats were sold in Mumbai during the last year and a half - a clear indication the market has great potential.
Maneck Contractor , a boat builder from the western state of Goa , said low labour and manufacturing costs also make India an attractive hub not just for selling but also for building boats.
With a booming economy and a rapidly growing list of millionaires, the Indian market seems ready to check out the best deals in the business.
Those who can afford them can either purchase the luxury boats or charter them.
Global companies say while the infrastructure to support a thriving yachting culture may not be there yet, educating the rich and famous potential buyers through such shows will definitely yield good results.

Catching Fish that can Fly!!
In this video, I go fishing for flying fish and other species with my good buddy Carl from Slob City Charters off the coast of Florida. Seriously, we were fishing for fish that can fly! Once we got to the fishing spot, we set up our drift, deployed the chum bag and started fishing. Within less than an hour, I spotted the first flying fish in the chum slick. I tossed a small piece of bonito for bait, and within seconds, I was hooked up to the first flying fish of the day. After catching the first flying fish, it was game on! The flying fish bite was epic! We caught seven in total. While I was fishing for flying fish, Carl caught several cobia and a few mutton snappers. After finding our bait, we set up another drift and used the flying fish for bait to catch wahoo, sailfish, and dolphin. While kite fishing, a giant hammerhead shark swam into the spread and tried to eat our kite baits. As the hammerhead shark was trying to eat our kite baits, one of the flying fish we were using for bait got hit by a dolphin. Carl reeled in the dolphin while I was trying to hook the hammerhead shark. We ended the day catching a small reef shark before heading in. It's also a blast catching flying fish and using them for bait to work our way up the food chain.

Try to plan your trip with at least one night halt & in full moon. After midnight ,when all generator operated lights are off( no central electricity in the island)you look at the sky. Millions of stars twinkling, full moon is smiling, whispering of breeze & sea waves give you a feeling of heavenly atmosphere. This divine look at night is awesome. Be there & enjoy!

51' Jabiru Houseboat For Sale in Fiji. Invest in Paradise or keep as a holiday home!
51' Jabiru Power Catamaran (Houseboat) For Sale in Fiji.
The only available houseboat for sale in Fiji, this vessel represents a rare opportunity to secure a solid and very lucrative investment in one of the most sought-after tourist destination in the world. Refitted in 2010, the vessel is ready to use, but could be refitted for private or commercial luxury accommodation, which is in high demand in Fiji.
In fact, the charter demand in Fiji is at an all-time high and keeps growing each year. To add extra incentive to non-resident and residents alike charter vessel owners, the government recently dropped the charter income tax dramatically from 24% to only 9%.
Equipped with two powerful outboard engines, this vessel regularly cruises from her permanent (cyclone proof) storage berth at Viti Levu (the delightful Vuda Marina) to Musket Cove at Malolo Lailai with her pristine blue lagoons, easy access to the world-famous surf spots such as Cloud Break, Namotu and Tavarua, but can also explore further afield and be anchored in a more secluded spot. With over 300 islands to chose from, there are plenty of idyllic lagoons and anchorages to choose from. The vessel can remain for long periods of time away from marinas thanks to her solar power supply and 2000L of water!
With its huge sheltered flybridge for entertaining or relaxing, aft and forward cockpits, easy to board transom, and equipped with a strong lifting arm for its 12' aluminium dinghy, this massive power catamaran (houseboat type) offers unlimited potential. Inside, the boat is designed around a large lounge and dining room, open plan kitchen and three double bedrooms, two of which open directly over the forward cockpit.
For more information please contact Anna on +61 420 882 296 or visit our website.
'Wai Tui' was photographed at Musket Cove (September 14th 2018) but will be moved to permanent berth at Vuda Marina by the end of September for easy access from international airport..
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The vessel is a Jabaru design catamaran constructed in kitset form by Jabaru in Australia, one of several dozen vessels produced by them in fibreglass from female moulds. The hulls, decks and structural components were then shipped to Fiji for final assembly first launching being approx 1990.
The hulls are solid fibreglass and were taken back to the bare glass and given 3 coats of epoxy coating before launching after a major refit in July 2010. The entire inside of the boat was refitted to give a 3 double stateroom layout with separate bathroom and combined kitchen-dining-lounge layout on the main deck with a full length fly-bridge above with full canopy cover and clear screen protection of the helm position and controls.
The boat can be lifted out by Travel Lift and placed on to the hard at Vuda Marina for maintenance and anti fouling. The most recent lift out was in May 2017 and 3 coats of anti foul applied, motor servicing and other general maintenance.
Structurally and mechanically sound, anti fouled and engines serviced each year, the boat nevertheless will need some cosmetic work to the following areas:
