Largest Amethyst Cave In The World
The Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens in Australia have the world's largest amethyst cave, called the Enchanted Cave. The 20-ton cave was shipped all the way from Uruguay to Australia. Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens - Montecollum
Truly the place to rest your soul.
The Crystal Castle is home to the Biggest Crystals in the Worlds as well a Tranquil Garden embracing multi Cultures of Energy and Healing.
The Crystal Castle is 30 minute drive from Byron Bay through Lustrous Green Nature, Bendy Roads and Mini Mountains.
The Highlights to see in the Crystal Castle are the:
Shambhala Gardens
The enchanting Shambhala Gardens are exquisite landscaped subtropical gardens filled with some amazing treasures. On your peaceful garden walk you will encounter enormous stone statues, and extraordinary crystals, some as old as 500 million years.
The sacred gardens are filled with unusual flowering plants, and you will also discover hidden charms, such as a labyrinth, the stone spiral, an amethyst rock wall, rare crystals, ancient geodes and fossils in the lush foliage setting. This healing sanctuary has many beautiful spots for contemplation and the ambience will leave you feeling recharged and serene.
One of only seven in the world and the only stupa in the southern hemisphere, this amazing structure has been engineered to last 1,000 years. Tibetans believe that great benefit can be gained from walking clockwise around the Stupa. Indeed, the mere sight of a stupa is said to put you in touch with your own innate goodness, inspiring compassion, kindness and ultimately good karma.
The ‘Buddha Walk’ is a unique half kilometre walk offering spectacular views of Byron’s hinterland. On the walk you will discover giant crystals, lush sub-tropical gardens, enormous statues, a bamboo walk, and beautiful spaces for contemplation and meditation.
Take the Shambhala Gardens Tour for a more indepth experience.
In a spontaneous gesture the Crystal Castle visitors have been making coin offerings on the statues. These offerings are sent to a Tibetan Kindergarten in Northern India to help preserve the Tibetan culture.
The amazing statues are hand carved from volcanic rock from Gunung Merapi (mountain of fire), the same stone used to carve the famous Buddhist monument Borobudur in Java, Indonesia.
Standing at a breathtaking 5.5 metres, the Crystal Guardians are an exquisite smoky quartz geode with delicate sprinklings of amethyst and calcite crystal flowers and stand as sentinels watching over the property. The impressive geodes have travelled from a remote location in Uruguay and required skilful engineering to withstand the elements and be stable in their new home.
120 million years ago, in northern Uruguay, South America, a giant bubble formed inside a molten lava flow. Through intense pressure, heat and the presence of iron, millions of tiny amethyst crystals began to grow. When a farmer discovered this massive geode, Crystal Castle founder Naren and his daughter Manya flew to the site to check it out.
“We found this geode so awe inspiring, we knew we had to bring it home. This magical creation of Nature is our gift to the Crystal Castle in her 30th year. We hope you enjoy seeing what is the largest amethyst cave ever discovered in the world!”
The Enchanted cave is approximately 5.5 metres wide and weighs over 20,000 kilograms, that’s 20 tonne!!!
