England Cricket stars Joe Denly & Sam Billings train with Palace
England cricketers Joe Denly and Sam Billings joined in a full training session with Crystal Palace FC last week, as the batsmen prepare to travel to New Zealand with the national side for a Twenty20 Series and two Test matches. Roy Hodgson and Joel Ward also visited Kent Cricket's Academy facility after training, with Ward taking on a bowling machine under the watchful eye of the manager and cricketers.
Time Team: History Hunters (1998-9) - Episode 1 - Crystal Palace (South London)
The three teams look into the Crystal Palace, the home of the Great Exhibition, that burnt down in the 1930s. They look into why the Palace was moved from Hyde Park and what the cause of the fire that destroyed it was.
No copyright infringement has been intended by the uploading of this video; I am simply trying to share this amazingly interesting series.
The story of the Great Exhibition – Part 1
The Great Exhibition of 1851 was a highpoint of Victorian Britain and its sense of Empire. The magnificent Crystal Palace in Hyde Park became a magnet for great crowds of visitors from all over Britain including Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and the Royal family who repeatedly visited.
An expert on the Exhibition, David De Haan, discusses how Prince Albert championed the original concept, helped to raise the funds and took a very active interest in the project. He also explains the social impact of the Great Exhibition and how it shaped Victorian Society.
Take a conducted tour of the Great Exhibition and join the crowds of visitors to the Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace (1967)
Crystal Palace, Sydenham in London.
Several shots show the remains of the old Crystal Palace; statues, a Sphinx and the overgrown ruins. Several shots of the model prehistoric dinosaurs in the grounds of Crystal Palace Park. Pan across a panoramic photograph of the Crystal Palace just after it burnt to the ground in 1936.
Elsewhere in the grounds we see the new Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre; two men at a control board switch on the lights in the building and the new sports stadium. M/S of the accommodation block in the grounds where visiting athletes stay. A carved stone head sits on top of the gate to the grounds (not sure if he is someone significant).
Several shots in the sports centre show teenagers and children learning judo, volleyball, trampolining, football (the team is Leyton Orient FC). Outside, children are instructed on an outdoor ski-slope; a teacher in a snazzy red ski-suit and bobble hat goes tearing down the slope and falls over halfway down. Various shots of children in the indoor swimming pool being taught how to dive and swim; a few underwater shots of the children.

Relax Roman Style - Qua Spa and Baths - Las Vegas - on Voyage.tv
Visit for the best HD travel videos in the world.
The Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Palace brings the Roman Baths of Caesar's day to the heart of The Strip. Expansive and designed in a modern aesthetic, Qua uses all the finest materials the Romans were known for, from cool marble to smooth stone to rich, dark wood. Natural light pours in through the windows and unique water features and cascading waterfalls set a serene aqua-environment that places emphasis on the healing powers of water. Reminiscent of the Roman facilities in Bath, England, which were constructed 2,000 years ago, Qua adopts a social approach with an expansive coed wet spa comprising mineral-enriched baths at varying temperatures, thermal stone relaxation chaises, the Laconium hot room, the artfully designed Arctic Ice Room, and the Tea room, with blends served by a tea sommelier. Separate men's and women's facilities allow further relaxation with Vichy hydro-showers, herbal steam rooms, and cedar saunas. Men can indulge at the Barbershop, and women can explore their inner-goddesses with decorative adornment in the Crystal Body Art room. The fitness center features cutting-edge Technogym equipment and a spa concierge to help facilitate your personalized fitness experience.
The communal approach to bathing, healing and socializing is the essence of the Roman Rituals at Qua, which in turn enables an even greater experience of relaxation and renewal during individual body treatments. Services are administered by aestheticians and massage therapists called Artisans, and include not only scrubs, soaks, wraps and massage, but also energy work, like chakra balancing, sleep-health and dream interpretation.
The Menu: The Ancients would certainly approve of the many impressive in-water treatments offered here, from the spa's Signature Qua Liqueur used in private hydrotherapy tubs to the Herbal Wrap, Dancing Waters, Niagara Falls and Sand & Foam treatments performed under Vichy showers with herbal exfoliations and moisturizing rituals. Other highlights include the Fountain of Youth, Essential Oil Oasis Body Wrap, the Signature Hourglass Treatment and Deep Tissue Surrender.
The Must-have: Raindrop Therapy is a 75-minute aromatherapy experience, during which you'll be massaged with nine essential oils that will send your entire body into a state of blissful relaxation. Intended to release stress, aid in detoxification and restore balance, this treatment will make you reluctant to leave this Roman paradise.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth visited an exhibition dedicated to her great-great-grandmother Victoria
Please like share and subscribe
Britain's Queen Elizabeth visited an exhibition dedicated to her great-great-grandmother Victoria on Wednesday (July 17), which uses cutting-edge technology to recreate Buckingham Palace as it was during the 19th century.
'Queen Victoria's Palace' tells the story of how the young monarch transformed Buckingham Palace from an unloved royal residence into the iconic palace it is today, said exhibition co-creator and Royal Collection Trust Assistant Curator of Paintings, Lucy Peter.
The building of the main East Front facade during Queen Victoria's residency was an integral part of the transformation.
Visitors will see projections and illusions showing the vibrant colours of the palace interiors.
They will also see aspects of Victoria's motherly side, including a casket containing the baby teeth of her children and white marble casts of some of their limbs.
Working with a Hollywood production company, the curators have also recreated a waltz staged at the palace at the end of the Crimean war.
The exhibition, which marks the 200th anniversary of Victoria's birth, also features her throne, ballgown and water colour paintings.
Acceding to the throne at the age of 18, Queen Victoria ruled the UK from 1837 until her death in 1901. She was the longest-serving monarch until 2015 when Elizabeth, 93, surpassed her

Video Game Arcade Tours - Crystal Palace Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
Dance Dance Revolution X with a Fast and Furious cabinet, hidden in the back of a full-on redemption pit. The video game arcade scene in Hemsby is simply awful! It's redemption everywhere! You might as well call it a casino for kids. The Dance Dance Revolution X cabinet had a stuck right arrow on player 1, so we couldn't play half of that either. So disappointing!

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.
