Cua Dai Bridge Project Hoi An Vietnam
Cua Dai Bridge Project, Hoi An, Vietnam
Hoi An projects could wash away! 08-10-12
The 18-kilometer, four lane Cua Dai Bridge will link ancient Hoi An Town and Duy Xuyen District when it is completed in 40 months time, Than Duc Nam, director general of the state-owned construction group Cienco No. 5, said at the groundbreaking ceremony?
Half of the investment comes from Quang Nam Province's budget, and the other half is sponsored by the central government.
With the bridge, it will take half an hour to go to Danang City by motorbike [from Duy Xuyen District] instead of nearly two hours via National Highway No.1A, an official said?
Cua Dai Bridge is expected to set up a coastal tourism line, Da Nang Hoi An Duy Xuyen Thang Binh Tam Ky Nui Thanh, to attract investment into tourism and infrastructure in the future, according to officials and experts?
This is a historic bridge opening new territory for Quang Nam's coastal eastern region, the Hoi An Town Chairman Le Van Giang said, highlighting the likelihood of coastal urban areas, industrial zones and new tourism sites appearing?
The bridge is part of 29 works under the province's VND3.7-trillion ($207.59 million) project to relocate local residents and decrease damage from natural disasters along the coast, Quang Nam People's Committee Chairman Le Minh Anh said?
The project targets 15 communes in the province's eastern region where over 10,300 families have to move for the construction, Anh added?

Vlog 13 - Hoi An, Vietnam
we took a 45 minute taxi from Da Nang to Hoi An, settled into our next hotel before hiring push bikes to go and explore parts of the Ancient Town. After nearly a week in Hoi An, here is what we got up to!
Things to do Hoi An, Vietnam
1. Ancient Town, Hoi An
Of course if you are going to be spending time in Hoi An, you are bound to visit the Ancient Town. By day it has bustling markets, lots of coffee shops and is an ideal location to cycle the streets whilst doing a bit of shopping... they have custom made tailors / shops all over should you need any travel clothes!
By night, the place completely transforms... the lanterns come alive, lights everywhere, even on the water where locals light candle lanterns which you can buy and release along the river. You will not be short of food options in the Ancient Town either. It was incredibly busy around the time we were visiting, just after Vietnamese new year, but don't expect Hoi An to be quiet any time of the year. The Ancient Town has a real charm to it, embrace it's culture and you will enjoy your time here.
2. Basket Boat Tour, Coconut Forest
This was by far our FAVOURITE experience whilst in Hoi An, Vietnam. The ladies rowing the boats were so nice, and floating among the coconut forest is a real treat. Our guide took out a fishing rod and managed to catch a crab... only to lose it in the boat haha, we panicked!
The Chinese / Korean tourists took to basket boats nearby, and their guides decided to play all kinds of 'banging' tunes to get them fired up... with the guides dancing, doing stunts on their basket boats. Interesting to see!
3. Marble Mountain
OK Marble Mountain is actually a little closer to Da Nang than it is Hoi An... but we ran out of time in Da Nang so had to head back that way to visit the famous location. Worth it! The caves, the views, the statues, everything about this place is impressive...
The only difficult bit is all the steps up to the top haha! We managed to fly the drone out from Marble Mountain too, hope you like our footage.
One thing, expect A LOT of people visiting here. If possible, arrive early morning to avoid the mass crowds. You'll never find yourself alone in any of the caves though, easily one of the most popular tourist destinations around Da Nang & Hoi An.
4. Cua Dai Beach, Hoi An
Not the nicest beach on the coast of Vietnam, but worth seeing. It's a real shame to see what natural erosion has done to the beach, with most of it's sand swept away a few years back... I think that's what makes this beach unique, looking at old google pictures, the beach looks so different nowadays. Inspiring to see the efforts the Vietnamese are going to in order to keep parts of the beach intact vs the tide.
5. Jack's Cat Cafe
Are you a cat lover? Then you will LOVE this little cat cafe located just out of town. It's location isn't an easy find, even with google maps... largely because the owners don't want to draw attention from locals who might want to break in and steal the cats for their 'meat trade.'
The volunteers are doing a great job at the cafe, caring for more than 70 rescue cats. They all have unique personalities, especially the kittens we met on the day :) Expect most of the cats to be lazing around, it's hot in Hoi An and long days being kept safe in the cafe grounds must make these little guys a bit tired, day in day out.
Oh and take a look in the pond... you'll see a HUGE fish in there!
Bigger than the cats haha!
That summarises our time in Hoi An, Vietnam.
We had a great few days here, ate lots of tasty local food and experienced some of the best travel hotspots the area has to offer.
Next stop for us is Nha Trang. We will be catch a train from Da Nang all the way to Nha Trang. 10+ hours of fun... not! Only in Vietnam :)

Top 7 Things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam
We shot this Top things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam video from what has become one of our favourite locations we've visited so far. Hoi An is simply an amazing must-visit city in Vietnam. We hope this video helps you get a glimpse into as much magic as we were able to capture during our 5 night stay in Hoi An, Vietnam.
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, it should include a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town and you definitely need to stay from day until evening because everything changes at night. From the glowing silk lanterns to the row boats slowly drifting down the river. This little Hoi An old town is simply charming. Just be prepared for the big crowds to pack in during the evening and night time.
Remember to pick up your tickets from the ticket stations located around the Hoi An Ancient Town. Once you pay for this you can visit any 5 special attractions of your choice.
Some of the ticketed attractions we visited in Hoi An Old Town were:
1. Assembly Hall Of Fujian Chinese
Address: 46 Trần Phú, Cẩm Châu, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
2. Japanese Covered Bridge
Address: Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 564010, Vietnam
3. Museum of Trade Ceramics Hoi An
80 Tran Phu St. | Minh An, Hoi An, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
You should also visit Hoi An Night Market in the Ancient Town. Cross the Hoi An bridge and you'll enter the night market. Much more enjoyable at night with all the boats running along and lanterns fully lit up. It is a very touristy area though so just be aware of the higher prices and crowds.
Chicken Rice Place (not sure if the Google marker/address is quite in the right place, but the shop name is Cơm Gà Hiền and the photos shown are correct in the map link!)

If you're looking for a nice beach to relax in Hoi An has you covered.
There are 3 main beaches in Hoi An:

An Bang Beach will be the most busy so try Tan Tanh or Cua Dai if you're wanting more space to relax.
We also went to an ancient temple and UNESCO world heritage site called My Son Sanctuary to find out some of the amazing history of the Champa people who once lived in Vietnam. My Son Sanctuary is a must-visit when you're in Hoi An, Vietnam especially if you love history and ancient ruins.
The World Cultural Heritage My Son Sanctuary
Address: Duy Phú, Duy Xuyên District, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 6:30am–5:30pm

Hoi An, Vietnam | Cham Island snorkelling tour, An Bang beach | Vietnam Travel
After visiting the city of Da Nang we hopped on our motor bikes and road to the ancient town of Hoi An, Vietnam.
We arrived in the evening and we were greeted by our Airbnb host in town who then guided us to our super cute rental home.
There is so much to see, and do and eat in Hoi An. We spent our days riding around on motor bikes checking out local areas such as the old quarter of Hoi An along the river. This area is packed full of restaurants and shops of every kind. It's a must-see near the Japanese bridge. Hundreds of lanterns fill every corner. There is so much incredible food choices. We spend a bit of time each day at the beautiful beach called An Bang beach. We explored the rice fields on bikes at Tra Que vegetable village between the town and An Bang beach where all the local vegetables come from. We went on a Basket Boat tour in the Coconut Forest. And spent the day at sea on a Cham Islands Snorkelling Day Tour.
We highly recommend visit this wonderful place.
Next up we visit Ho Chi Minh City , (commonly known as Saigon). Stay tuned!

The Cau Pagoda is a stone pillar wooden bridge about 18m long, connecting Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu streets, across a small river branch of the Hoai River. This place is an ancient bridge with over 400 years of age in the old town of Hoi An, Quang Nam province. It is also known as the Japanese bridge or Lai Vien Kieu.
Cau Pagoda is one of the relics with quite special architecture. The temple roof is covered with yin and yang tiles covering the bridge.
The pagoda and the bridge are all painted with wood and elaborately carved, the pagoda face turns towards the river. The two ends of the bridge are adorned with wooden statues, one is a statue of a dog, and the other is a monkey statue. It is said that the reason for such similarity may be derived from the bridge built from the year of the body, the year of the death. . In addition, these are also animals worshiped in Japanese Shinto religion.

MARBLE MOUNTAIN & AN BANG BEACH | WHAT TO SEE IN HOI AN OR DA NANG (VIETNAM) ????????
There are so many things to do around How An & Da Nang, and Marble Mountain is one place you MUST go and visit if you’re travelling to this region of Vietnam.
Just 20 minutes outside of the old historic town of Hoi An and about 15 minutes from Da Nang, Marble Mountain is one of those random tourists spots that all travellers must see. With beautiful sights, lot’s of history and some pretty fun cave exploring, its got everything you need for a good afternoon out!
Sure it’s not for everyone, but I went there alone and had a load of fun!
After Marble Mountain, I headed over to An Bang Beach - which is just a few minutes outside of Hoi An. It’s busy, it’s over crowded but there is something charming about its family vibe that made me go there pretty much every other night for sunset. I liked it a lot!
If you’re in Da Nang or Hoi An, both of these spots are recommended!
Enjoy!
Anthony

I took a vacation to Hoi An Vietnam. The beach was only 15 minutes away, but after getting lost, confronted by a bovine and befriended by a dog, the trip took longer than I expected. Do I miss the snow and cold? Not yet.

Hoi An Vietnam 2019 GLOBAL GYPSY
Hoi An Town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site. Hoi An has no airport, and no train station either. The only way to get there is by road. You can hire a taxi from the neighbouring city of Da Nang, which does have an airport with daily flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other large Vietnamese cities. There’s also a train station in Da Nang, and bus services are plentiful. We have a wide selection of hotels for you to choose from in both Cua Dai Beach and Hoi An City, whatever suits your pocket and style.
Today We explore some of the most beautiful places such as Marble Mountain and Hoi an. We also eat some of the most delicious foods such as Jolibee, Banh Xeo, Banh Mi and Cao Lau.
