Planning a trip to Cuba? Wondering what you should see or do while in Cuba? I’ll show you the destination city of Varadero not too far from Havana that is known for their beach. My friends and I spent 3 full days in Varadero and these were the highlights of what to do in this beautiful getaway city.

Exchange the money you plan to use at the airport. They have the best rates surprisingly and safe place to exchange.
We stayed at an Airbnb that was managed by the “Hotel Los Delfines” and was across the street from the beach. It offered a buffet of breakfast every morning. Definitely look into an Airbnb.
Talk with locals they are friendly and helpful. They will give you all the inside scoop of where to eat, where to drink, and what to visit.
We went in October so very Humid, Unpredictable Weather, so plan for that with light clothes, sunscreen, a small umbrella, mosquito repellent, and anything that will help you with tropical weather.

We got a day pass at one of the Varadero, Cuba hotels called Melia Las Americas and had this gorgeous beach out front!

About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

Our Adventure into Havana - Cuba 2020 Day #9 - Local info on Castro
Our Beautiful Vacation in Varadero CUBA started on New Years Eve, 2019. It was nice to leave the kids behind and just spend time with each-other. There will be a few videos in this mini series in order to cover all we experienced in Beautiful CUBA.
Along the way we will share tips and tricks we have figured out or have learned from past travels. Day 9 was an amazing day. We took a Vintage Chevy Belair into Havana/Habana and spent the day getting toured around. Saw and learned so much!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! - You will be approached by people in the streets of Cuba especially in Havana to buy cigars on special only for that day. BE VERY CAREFUL, there is a lot of fake cigars being sold on the street. Using banana leaves from what we're told. Don’t buy singles, buy the ones in boxes and have all the seals.
- ALWAYS check your box of cigars before purchasing to see that all cigars are the same even the bottom rows. We were told some boxes look presentable from the top row but all fake at the bottom. Double check.
- Buy cigars from government stores since they have seals and are 100% authentic. They might be slightly pricier. Box ranges from $65 CUC to $100 CUC depending the brand.
- Buy the cigars straight from Vinales (Tobacco Farms). They are the same as branded cigars, without the brand label.
