Cubao | Quezon City Philippines (When In Cubao)
Cubao, south of Diliman is an important commercial area. At its heart is the Araneta Center along EDSA (C-4) and Aurora Boulevard (R-6). It is a 35-hectare commercial estate owned and developed by the Araneta family. Department stores and retail centers can also be found here, such as Gateway Mall, Plaza Fair, Rustan's, Shopwise Supercenter, SM Cubao, Ali Mall, and Farmer's Plaza. At the center is Smart Araneta Coliseum, often called the Big Dome. Many musical concerts, ice shows, circus shows, religious crusades, wrestling, cockfighting, and basketball games are held in this 25,000-capacity coliseum. In the outskirts of Araneta Center is the Cubao Expo,[55] an artists' colony and site of weekend flea markets. It is also a home to call centers like APAC, Telus,[56] and Stellar.[57] Stellar (Stellar Philippines Inc.)[58] recently moved out of its Cubao site and moved to Eastwood City in 2010. It is Surrounded by Condominiums, BPO Offices, Schools, Transport Terminals, Residential and Commercial Properties. (Source: Wikipedia)

This is for the second time to buy more vinyl records (plaka) for my vinyl collection at Cubao Expo (Vinyl Dump Thrift Store is the name of the record store at the heart of the entire Cubao Expo)!!! It's so amazing to me!!!

On This Island — A Visit to the Independent Shops of Cubao Expo
For the first episode of On This Island, Chris took a trip to Quezon City to visit the renowned creative spot, Cubao Expo. Known as the Marikina Shoe Expo in its earlier days, Cubao Expo evolved to become a space for independent businesses and concepts, which established its creative appeal. From art galleries to lifestyle stores, antique shops to unique restaurants, the mix of retail concepts is interestingly very diverse. One sunny afternoon, we met with a few of the shop owners to get a glimpse of the inspiring energy that Cubao Expo brings about. We visited Kendo Creative – a coffee shop mixed with design retail by Kayo Cosio, Gold Digger – a shop by Angelo Mendez selling vinyl records, local clothing, secondhand footwear, and more, Post Gallery – a progressive art gallery that provides a platform for new local artists, and Medisina – a clothing store by the members of the band, Greyhoundz. Chris talked to them to know more about their shops, and to understand Cubao Expo through the point of view of its tenants.

Address of Art in Island is 175 15th Ave., Brgy. Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City. This fun and interactive museum is near Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Ali Mall, Cubao Expo, etc.
Entrance Fee is FREE for children 3 feet and below while the regular admission fee for Adults is Php500.
Students, Senior Citizens, PWDs get a discount of Php 100 so they will only pay P400 admission fee, if you belong to this category you must bring a valid ID to avail of the discount. Accepted IDs are school ID for the students, Senior Citizen ID for the Senior Citizens, and PWD ID for the PWDs.
This 3D Art Museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM. That’s 12 hours of fun exploration if you feel like being there on opening and closing bell hehe.
**This establishment is close on Mondays, but open on Holidays. Ticket selling is only up to 8PM.

Ali Mall Overview Walking Tour Araneta Center Cubao Quezon City. Ali Mall is the very first major shopping mall in the Philippines completed in 1976 and developed by Araneta Center. The 4 storey mall was named after World Champion Boxer, Muhammad Ali. Recently, they relaunched the new Cinemas and Food Court.
Construction on the mall began in 1975 after Muhammad Ali's boxing victory against Joe Frazier at the sold out Araneta Coliseum which was called the Thrilla in Manila. In the 1970s, there were no malls in the entire country, so Ali addressed a speech to the Philippines to build a shopping mall near the Big Dome in honor of his victory, a shopping mall with a floor area of 62,000 sq.m. In the 1980s, the mall has been undergoing expansions and renovations since its construction. In 2009, an expansion to Ali Mall was opened.

FILIPINO FOOD in Araneta Center | Manhattan Row FOOD CRAWL in the Philippines | KTV & 3 Cafes
Amazed by the Filipino Restaurants and Cafes that served Filipino food, Asian food and local coffee brew at the Manhattan Row in Araneta Center Cubao, Quezon City Philippines. During the night, they also setup some food stalls that offer Filipino made food products and of course, filipino street food.
Our first stop was Karaoke Pop, a family KTV that you can sing your heart out and have fun times with friends and family while savoring the delicious Filipino, Asian food and refreshing drinks. We enjoyed our time at Karaoke Pop because the great selection and variety of food from sisig, dinakdakan, crispy dinuguan, pancit canton, spaghetti with meatballs, seafood platter and many more. Located at Manhattan Parkway, Araneta Center, Quezon City.
Second stop was Cab Cafe, a filipino cafe which brings the best coffee and cakes from Bacolod City. They also serve Batchoy, Sate Babe and other local filipino food. Also located at Manhattan Row, Araneta Center.
Third stop was my favorite, which is the Bengal Brew and Wolf Bear, a pet cafe that you can play and cuddle with cats and dogs! Really enjoyed my time here petting the dogs especially. They have pugs, Siberian huskies, Alaskan malamutes, Bengal cats, and many more! All of the stops are near to each other which is at Manhattan Parkview, General Malvar Avenue, Araneta Center, Quezon City.
Fourth stop was Books and Borders Cafe that offers coffee and cakes with books and boardgames that you can enjoy with friends. Definitely a place you can chill and relax. Also located at Manhattan Row Araneta Center.
The Popup Night along Manhattan Row was also setup that night. Together with the Filipino made products and Filipino street food in each stalls, you can enjoy it with music from the live bands while you enjoy the festive atmosphere of Manhattan Row.
