TRIP TO CULEBRITA ISLAND, PUERTO RICO
Culebrita is a small uninhabited island to the east of the main Culebra Island, which is itself east of Puerto Rico and one of Puerto Rico’s 72 municipalities. Culebrita is a Natural Federal Reserve and highly protected by law. No overnight camping is allowed there. It has the most beautiful, most transparent and peaceful beach I have ever seen, called Playa Tortuga (Turtle Beach). You can see sea turles all over in this beach. It is great for snorkeling since the water is amazingly crystal clear and there are no big waves. The sand is not grainy, but powdery, almost like flour. It has a non working lighthouse finished in 1886. You can hike up to it and experience a breathtaking view. Culebrita also has Tidal Pools (shown in the video) which are natural seawater “swimming pools” created by the sea water when it fills up openings in the rocks and corals when the tide is high. They are beautiful and great for snorkeling, but you have to be very careful when walking over the many rocks you will need to walk over to get to them (you will need strong rubber shoes, no flip flops or sandals). You must also use a lot of caution (and should decide against going in them) if the tide is too high and/or if the sea is rough that day. Welcome in my channel I need vacations, I’m currently traveling in the Caribean, This is Puerto Rico, this is Culebra Island and this small island is Culebrita and I’m taking you there today.
if you watching my video first time, this is Part 3 of my video in Puerto Rico where im searching for perfect beach.
In my previous video I’ve meet guys from Dubai and we are sharing the cost of water taxi which is 300 USD. In the description of the video I will leave contact number of the owner of the boat if you wish to go to Culebrita and enjoy the time.
We have arrived to a perfect beach, it is not hard to realised that its not only breathtaking pretty but also we are alone. I’ve been on the search for many days this and is my reward, it is 10 out of 10 and it was worth to come here.
We are arriving to the Tortuga beach and we are alone, the beach is just perfect, nice sand and clear water. The plan is very simple, enjoy and relax at the beach, do some snorkelling, and explore the island. we will go around the island to see all the corners, this is not hard because the width is around 1 mile and length about the same.
After couple of hours chilling at beach we decide to go around the island, I need shoes and drone to give you better picture how beautiful is this island. This video is not typical vlog, my goal is to show you how the nature of Culebrita island.
Culebrita Island has got 6 beaches and 2 lagoons, the whole place is a national wildlife refuge, strictly no camping, all plants and animals are protected.
Trip to find a best 10 out of 10 beach in Puerto Rico has finished. I’m happy with the results because I have found in my opinion perfect beach. My next stop is British Virgin Islands. They are called Virgin but there are people living here. Welcome to a second part of my video from Puerto Rico where I continue search for a perfect 10 out of 10 beach
Jan has been in this island before and he already know some good spots to visit
The first place we are going to is Zoni Beach. From the first view this beach is looking good but our sad faces telling you that we are not happy. The sea weed amount do not even allow us to go inside the water, beside that I would not like to swim with sea weed around me.
We are quickly making another plan and hoping that next beach will not have that problem.
Im coming back in the video to this beach but first I’m going with Jan to the ferry port to buy his tonight return ticket.
Remember guys from the port? I’ve meet them again at another beach and with my power of persuasion they agreed to stay overnight in Culebra. This means I found company who can share the cost of the water taxi to Culebra.
The cost of the ferry including the car is 22 dollars. The problem is that you can’t buy ticket online and you have to be there in the line. The ferry ride is very rough but that depends on the waves. Today the sea is calm but still some people are not felling well. If you have motion sickness I suggest you to sit outside because fresh air might help you deal with the problem.
Being on the top deck make the journey refreshing and gives you great views for small islands.
My goal is to get to the Culebrita island and it is not easy find somebody with a boat to get me there. I did ask many local people but it is not easy.

Bienvenido a la segunda parte de mi video de Puerto Rico, donde continúo buscando una perfecta 10 de cada 10 playas.
Jan ha estado en esta isla antes y ya conoce algunos buenos lugares para visitar.
El primer lugar al que vamos a ir es Zoni Beach. Desde la primera vista, esta playa se ve bien, pero nuestras caras tristes te dicen que no somos felices. La cantidad de algas marinas ni siquiera nos permite entrar al agua, además de eso, no me gustaría nadar con algas marinas a mi alrededor.
Estamos haciendo otro plan rápidamente y esperamos que la próxima playa no tenga ese problema.
Estoy regresando en el video a esta playa, pero primero voy con Jan al puerto del ferry para comprar su boleto de regreso de esta noche.
¿Recuerdas chicos del puerto? Los he vuelto a encontrar en otra playa y, con mi poder de persuasión, acordaron pasar la noche en Culebra. Esto significa que encontré compañía que puede compartir el costo del taxi acuático a Culebra.
El costo del ferry incluyendo el auto es de 22 dólares. El problema es que no puedes comprar el boleto en línea y debes estar allí en la línea. El viaje en ferry es muy peligroso, pero eso depende de las olas. Hoy el mar está en calma pero todavía algunas personas no se están sintiendo bien. Si tiene mareos por movimiento, le sugiero que se siente afuera porque el aire fresco puede ayudarlo a resolver el problema.
Estar en la cubierta superior hace que el viaje sea refrescante y le brinda excelentes vistas para pequeñas islas.
Mi objetivo es llegar a la isla Culebrita y no es fácil encontrar a alguien con un bote que me lleve allí. Le pregunté a mucha gente local pero no es fácil.

CULEBRA ISLAND Beaches and Snorkeling
CULABRA ISLAND!!!
What an amazing location to for finding some of the best beaches that Puerto Rico has to offer. Our goal for Culebra was to visit the best beaches, snorkeling spots and places to get good food. Our journey took us to Honeymoon Beach, Tamarindo, Tamarindo Grande, Carlos Rosario, and the famous Flamenco Beach. We rented a Jeep for $80 a day which gave us the best flexibility to make our way around the island. We also had the opportunity to go listen to the whales with a local guide. This is a really amazing island, and well worth a visit to get there.

We spend the night at Culebrita. A small, uninhabited island off the eastern coast of Culebra, Puerto Rico and is part of the Puerto Rico Archipelago. I hike up in the evening and morning to the light house, find some goats, an incredible beach with zero people, and enjoy the views.
