Inter-city cycling Geldermalsen - Culemborg (Netherlands)
Late 2010 there were reports that the Netherlands is building 16 fast inter-city cycle routes. So what do the already existing bicycle routes between cities and towns look like?
This video shows the cycle route between the towns of Culemborg and Geldermalsen in the province Gelderland*. This is not one of the 16 'fast cycle routes'. This is just what existing high quality cycle infrastructure in the Netherlands looks like.
It is this type of cycle tracks that makes cycling from A to B fast, convenient and safe and it is what gets people of all ages and backgrounds on their bicycles, also between towns.

Cycling to school; Culemborg (Netherlands)
Hundreds of thousands of children cycle to school every morning in the Netherlands. Kids cycling up to 15km one way are no exception. The roads and streets are literally full of cycling children for about one hour. The cycle highway from Geldermalsen to Culemborg is one such road. Hundreds of children going to school take the same safe route here. They form spontaneous groups and the closer they get to school the larger the groups become. When the school bell rings and all the children are in class, the cycle highway looks as deserted as it was before the kids went to school.

???? -William Lindner The Bugaboos (BE) Café De Mart Binnenpodium Het is niet eenvoudig om een band als ”THE BUGABOOS” voor te stellen in een paar woorden. Dit zou een inbreuk zijn op de kwaliteiten die deze Belgische Blues/Bluesrock band in huis heeft.
De band werd opgericht in 2006, en heeft vele veranderingen doorstaan om tot deze solide bezetting te komen. Allen afkomstig uit de regio Antwerpen werken zij al jaren aan hun specifieke sound en stijl. Zij brengen zorgvuldig gekozen Bluessongs, aangepast en gemoderniseerd tot een eigen Bugaboos geluid. Ze durven af te dwalen van de meest bespeelde wegen en loodsen zo de verschillende stijlen van de Rhythm&Blues naar de 21ste eeuw
The Bugaboos werken hard om dit muzikaal doel te bereiken, door het veelvuldig spelen in alle mogelijke en uiteenlopende cafés, clubs en festivals in de lage landen. De band bracht in 2011 de eerste cd “Get The Blues On” op de markt. Deze werd door fans en de media goed ontvangen. Het leverde hen dan ook tal van mooie optredens op in de Benelux. Het heeft hen aangemoedigd om weer opnieuw de studio in te duiken en de volgende cd te persen. Deze is verschenen onder de titel “Deccenium”, en is gevuld met eigen songs en covers gecreëerd naar hun eigen sound en stijl.
Ondersteund door de drummer “Dynamic Dirk” die reeds van aanvang deel uit maakt van de bezetting en bassist “Groovin’ Eddy” hebben wij een zeer solide ritmesectie, samen met rhythm&lead gitarist”Guitar fingers Raf”, de oprichter van de band en met ervaren, saxophonespeler “Edy De Vos”staan zij in voor het muzikaal gebeuren. De “Blueslady Kath”, brengt met haar ruwe en eigenwijze bluesstem een gevoel dat de fans blijft vermaken, en zorgt voor de leukste ambiancepartijen onder het publiek.

Bosra Festival Syria Orient Culemborg The Netherlands
Our folkdance group from Culemborg The Netherlands was invited by the Syrian Ministry of Culture to participate in the 21th International Festival in Bosra Syria august 2009.
We performed in the Bosra Amfitheater for over 15.000 spectators. Later that evening the famous Ali al Deek performed and invited the group to dance with him on stage again. It was an amazing happening.
During this week we performed in Suweida, Tartous and the wonderful historic Azem Palace in Damascus.
In between the performances the organisation showed us several interesting sites elsewhere in Syria.
The video shows part of the performances in Bosra and in Damascus.
