Cullen Wines, Margaret River, Western Australia
Cullen Wines is a winery, located in the Margaret River region in Western Australia's extraordinary South West. Certified biodynamic, carbon neutral and powered naturally by wind, they achieve the best results when they harvest their grapes by hand on a full moon fruit day, to achieve the most lively wines. They believe in producing a wine that represents a sense of place. This is their story, as told by Vanya Cullen.
In the lead up to Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2012, a four-day food and wine festival held in WA's South West from November 22 to 25, Tourism Western Australia uncovered some of the people who call the region home, and who are behind the produce that the region is so well known for.
Thanks to its Mediterranean climate and rich fertile soils, WA's South West has a reputation for producing world-class food and wine. The area is also well known for its pristine beaches, enviable surf breaks, ancient tall timber forests and an abundance of flora and fauna.

Vasse Felix - Western Australia Worth Sharing
We're putting Western Australia on the menu and exporting it to the world.
Diana Madeline Harvest March 2014
The last week has seen the team out enjoying the warm weather and enthusiastically harvesting the Cabernet Sauvignon that will become our Diana Madeline 2014.
Everyone was in great spirits and we enjoyed very good days in the field and the sheds. It is always that way when the Diana Madeline cabernet sauvignon fruit comes into the winery - everyone's mood lifts being a part of that wonderful fruit!
We also found ourselves ready to harvest our Sauvignon Blanc, which was done on Saturday March 1st, on a Moon opposite Saturn Flower day on the biodynamic calendar, which is ideal for this beautiful fruit. For us it was a glorious and busy long weekend here in Western Australia, so the whole winery had a wonderful energy!
Please enjoy the short video we have put together to share with you, of the team at work and the beautiful grapes going through
the first step in the extraordinary process to becoming our flagship wine.

Treasury Laws Amendment (2017 Measures No. 4) Bill 2017
Margaret River winemaking was started by Dr Tom Cullity. He began his plantings for Vasse Felix winery in Cowaramup in 1967. He was a pioneer in the industry.
He based that investment and that confidence on groundbreaking research that had been done by University of Western Australia agronomist Dr John Gladstone. Vasse Felix was followed in the Margaret River region by Moss Wood, Cape Mentelle, Cullen, Sandalford, Leeuwin Estate, Woodlands and Wrights. Of course Vanya Cullen was one of those who did outstanding work in raising Margaret River as a premium brand around the world, and I acknowledge her efforts.
