How Provincial Girl Katya Living In Moscow, Russia. Real Russia ep.43
In previous episode #42 when we travelled to Pushchino science city in Moscow's Oblast, the girl Katya was driving us there. She is a good friend of Maksim Chepkasov, our project manager who now working with all the paperwork and administrative routine.
Katya (full name is Ekaterina) came to Moscow, Russia from Orenburg.
Orenburg is the capital of Orenburg Oblast of Russia. It's a big city but still kinda provincial in comparision to Moscow. Almost like Ufa.
She came to Moscow to work in one of Russian banks as a manager. She works with private (physical) clients and makes $1,400 per month.
This is not a big amount by Moscow standard.
However, it's enough for her to rent an apartment in Moscow, to pay off her bank loan for the car, buy clothing and food, and even save-up something!
In this video we show how she manage that.

Pre-Revolutionary Russia in photographs - Penza
Penza is on the Sura River, located some 625 km southeast of Moscow.
The city was founded as a Russian frontier fortress-city and to this day, remnants of the Lomovskaya sentry line built in 1640 have been preserved at the western edge of the city, and remains of earth ramparts dating from the mid-16th century are preserved in the city centre.
Until 1663, Penza was a wooden stockade with only a small settlement. Then in May 1663, the architect Yuri Kontransky arrived in Penza on the Tsar's orders to direct the construction of a fortress city as part of a wider fortress building program to protect Russia from attacks by Crimean Tatars. The initial construction consisted of a wooden Kremlin, a village, and quarters for the nobility, small tradesmen, and merchants………..
Little remains today of its historical past.

Muzei AKTOBE Tour - Regional Museum of Local History in Aktobe - ENGLISH SUBTITLES
The Regional Museum of Local History in Aktobe is a large research, cultural
and educational center for preservation and propaganda of the cultural
legacy. The museum was formed in 1929 at the initiative of the local
ethnographers.
The fund of the museum accounts for 95 thousand exhibits related to the history
and spiritual culture of the people. There are mineralogy, paleontology, botany,
archaeology, ethnography, applied art and jewelry, numismatics, rare books,
original documents and collections of photo materials. Museum collections were
exhibited in Moscow, Orenburg, Orsk, Ankara, Istanbul and other cities.
Scientific research allowed coming to conclusion that Sarmatian culture flourished
in the area of present Aktobe in V-VI centuries BC. In the course of archaeological
excavations of ancient kurgans – burial mounds Beskopa, Syntas and Nagornyi,
some gold objects and household items crafted by some Sarmatian master in
‘animal style’ were found. There were inlaid bone spoons proving that culture was
rather developed in that area as far back as 2500 years ago.

Letters from Siberia | Part Two
Dedication
The Hope and Spirit series is dedicated to the millions of victims of Soviet deportations--the men, women and children from all Soviet-occupied nations, and of all nationalities, religions, and races--who suffered two indignities: the brutality of forced exile, imprisonment, starvation, torture, and genocide, and the injustice of the subsequent denial, minimization and suppression of their suffering and victimization.
All of letters and photographs were graciously provided by the Lithuanian Research and Studies Center, Chicago. We would like to acknowledge the assistance of LRSC staff members, Dr. Augustinas Idzelis, President, Ms. Kristina Lapienyte, Executive Director, and Ms. Skirmante Migliniene, Archives Director.

Russian Air Force
The Russian Air Force (Russian: Военно-воздушные cилы России, tr. Voyenno-Vozdushnye Sily Rossii) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is currently under the command of Lieutenant General Viktor Bondarev. The Russian Navy has its own air arm, the Russian Naval Aviation, which is the former Soviet Aviatsiya Voyenno Morskogo Flota (Naval Aviation), or AV-MF).
The Air Force was formed from parts of the former Soviet Air Forces after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991--92. Boris Yeltsin's creation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on 7 May 1992, can be taken as a convenient formation date for the new Air Force. Since that time, the Air Force has suffered severe setbacks due to lack of resources, and has constantly shrunk in size. Since Vladimir Putin became President of the Russian Federation however, much more money has been allocated to the Armed Forces as a whole.

Information About Arkhangelsk
Arkhangelsk is one of the oldest Russian cities. It was founded in 1584 on the bank of the Northern Dvina not far from the place where it flows into the White Sea. Before the foundation of St. Petersburg Arkhangelsk was the only window to Europe and the only seaport.
Situatied on the right bank of the Northern Dvina River and on several islands, the city amazes by its vast building scale and contrasts of its old and modern parts.
During the last years the city has changed greatly. A lot of many-storeyed buildings and public cultural centers were erected.
Arkhangelsk is one of the largest scientific and cultural centers in the European North. There are three higher educational institutions: Pomor University, Technical University and Medical University, many research institutes, concert halls and three theaters. Lots of tourists are attracted to the Museum of Regional Ethnography, the Art Museum and the Museum of Wooden Architecture.
Arkhangelsk boasts woodcarving, bone-carving, decorative painting on wood, birch-bark processing, pattern weaving and embroidery, making clay toys and other folk handicrafts passed on from generation to generation. Welcome to Arkhangelsk.

Saint Petersburg, Russia - Time Lapse of the Norwegian Breakaway's Maiden Departure (2018)
Norwegian Breakaway is a cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. Construction of Norwegian Breakaway began on 21 September 2011, when the first piece of steel was cut at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. She was delivered to NCL on 25 April 2013. Following the handover, Norwegian Breakaway left the port of Bremerhaven, heading for Rotterdam. Following several inaugural events, she started her transatlantic cruise from Southampton to New York City, where the naming ceremony took place. On 12 May 2013 she headed to Bermuda to start her seven-day cruises.
She is 146,600 GT in size, and has capacity for 3,963 passengers, double occupancy. The ship has a total of 1,024 staterooms and 238 suites, designed by Priestmangoode and Tillberg Design.
Norwegian Breakaway is home ported at the New York Passenger Ship Terminal in Manhattan, making seven-night cruises to Bermuda (May thru Sept) and seven-night cruises to the Bahamas & Florida (October thru April). She is the largest cruise ship homeported year-round from New York City.
The ship, along with her sister Norwegian Getaway, was named through a public contest; Kimberly Powell submitted the name Norwegian Breakaway, which was announced on 14 September 2011. The ship's godmothers are the New York dancing troupe The Rockettes.
Onboard features include a restaurant, Ocean Blue, by Geoffrey Zakarian, and a comedy club, named Headliners, where a Second City company performs. Peter Max designed the hull art.
At launch Norwegian Breakaway was the world's ninth largest cruise ship.
