A Breif Visit To Port Eynon Gower Peninsula Swansea
As I was out and about this past Sunday I take a Brief Visit To Port Eynon on the Gower Peninsula in Swansea, South Wales, on a pleasant Sunny, (Breezy) Sunday afternoon, not been down here for a number of years, since I was small and stayed in the nearby Borfa House with my Primary School!! In this video I take a look at the old Salt House and take a stroll along the top of Port Eynon Point, and a Brief Look at Overton Beach where there is a Cave!
Link about the Cave and Salt House is here:
I will be back soon to do another video or an Edit Video in far less winder conditions than it was this past Sunday!
Hope you enjoy the video!
Back in the kayak around the Gower
Finally the winds have dropped for an amazing British bank holiday weekend so we're back out in the kayaks for a couple of paddles around the cliffs of the Gower, looking at the climbing crags from another perspective.
We paddle from Port Eynon around Culver Hole, Paviland, Mewslade Bay and Giant's Cave to Fall Bay, and then a couple of days later we go from Llangennith across to the Rhossili cliffs underneath all the climbers, cross to the Worm's Head and out to it's furthest point, watching the seals.

TSMV Prince Ivanhoe Tragedy Part 3
Part 3 of 3:
Footage of the TSMV Prince Ivanhoe (1951 ex Shanklin) aground in Port Eynon Bay on the Gower coast. Here we see her in her final resting place where she was beached on the 3rd of August 1981. With around 450 passengers onboard she hit an uncharted wreck while on a cruise along the Gower Coast which resulted in a 60ft gash in her hull .After immediately taking in water her engines were restarted for the last time which enabled her to be beached in Port Eynon Bay where all passengers were safely transferred ashore.
After being declared a Total Constructive Loss she was sadly abandoned by her owners.
In this footage taken only a few months later the effects of the early autumn gales are clear to see. Her mainmast has already collapsed and parts of the upper spar deck just aft of the funnel have also given way.
It would be another 4 years before her remains would be completely removed.

A really rough day at Rhossilli on the western tip of Gower. Storm force winds and a high tide are pushing waves and spray over the WormsHead.
