Curacao Ostrich Farm Shore Excursion
An overview of our shore excursion in Curacao. We visited an ostrich farm, had a bus tour of the island, went to the Chichi Factory, and still had time to do a little shopping before the boat left. The excursion was booked through Carnival Cruise at a price of $58.99 for each adult and $55.99 for each child.

Bucket List item... check! I swore that I would not leave Curacao until I was able to ride an ostrich... and so, I did. Here is the movie in all it's glory!
The Curacao Ostrich and Game Farm is located in Santa Catharina, Curacao. This occurred on November 28, 2015.
Sorry for the obscured part in the middle of the video; the guy videotaping inadvertently had put his finger in front of the lens.
I was told by Kemar (the guy in the white shirt with the camo safari hat) that the ostrich's name was Max Verstappen, named after a Dutch Formula One racecar driver. Max is specifically a riding ostrich. :)

Curacao Ostrich Ride 2016
Riding an Ostrich at the Curacao Ostrich Farm in Curacao was an interesting experience. We took a short drive out to the pen and run area where the rides take place. They blindfold the bird to keep him calm while being mounted and to also keep him from trying to run directly back to the pen. Once they take the blindfold off after the first stretch of the ride, the Ostrich will naturally want to return to his own pen.
The handlers say the bird can handle up to 300 LBS, I'm well below that and the bird didn't have any issues strutting around with me on top. The hissing noise the Ostrich makes didn't give me the feeling that these creatures enjoy being mounted. It's a fairly safe activity as the 2 handlers are beside you the entire time. $35 US for two minutes of riding an Ostrich and $7 US for the pic taken by the Ostrich Farm photographer, a reasonable price to scratch RIDING AN OSTRICH off your bucket list!!!

Curacao Ostrich Farm! + Ft. Nassau & Willemstad! | Carribean Adventure 2018
Today we hop off board and onto the island of Curacao! We explore an Ostrich Farm! Then we take a quick hike up to Ft. Nassau and spend some time in downtown Willemstad! Can't wait to go back! I need a week to explore this amazing island!

A wonderful excursion tip is the Ostrich Farm on Curacao. I want to take with you on our tour with many different types of ostrich and other animals. Interesting the sweet pig were by the wayside. A restaurant in an African theme and a special souvenir shop invite you to stay, the guide is in dutch or english and will take about 45 minutes.
Ein wunderbarer Ausflugstipp ist die Straußenfarm auf Curacao. Ich möchte Euch mitnehmen auf unserer Tour mit vielen verschiedenen Straußenarten und anderen Tieren. Sehenswert waren die süßen Schweinchen am Wegesrand. Ein Restaurant im afrikanischen Stil und ein spezieller Souveniershop laden zum verweilen ein, die Führung ist in hölländisch oder englisch und dauert ca. 45 min.

1st stop Hato Caves, they say the passages go from Curacao all the way to South American continent. After the caves was a short drive to an Ostrich farm, were we boarded a safari type open truck for our tour. The ostrich farm tour was a lot of fun and very informative, I would recommend this tour.
