Curraghchase Forest Park the bridge and River County Limerick Ireland
There are over 300 hectares of rolling parkland, trails, mixed woodland, lakes and an arboretum at Curragh Chase. This planned landscape was the former home of the de Vere family, the most notable being Sir Aubrey de Vere who was a poet and an author. The façade of the former grand house sits proud on the hill overlooking the main car park and man-made lake. There are many wonderful features of the de Vere estate dotted around the Park for you to find, including; the impressive arboretum, a pet cemetery and a memorial cross.
For the nature lover, there are a number of Special Areas of Conservation (SAC’s) in the park, largely due to the presence of the Lesser Horseshoe Bat (Rhinolophus hipposideros). The hawfinch, a rare bird on Irish soils has frequently been seen at Curragh Chase, this bird appreciates the many hornbeam trees to be found within the Park. Coillte is currently involved in restoring native woodlands within important pockets in the park, including a native Yew woodland. Ducks and an array of waterfowl live and waddle in the area on and around the lake.
There is ample to do and see for an enjoyable day at Curragh Chase for all ages.
Entrance is 5 Euro

To dark to see forest. Curragh Chase Forest Park.
Just a short evening trip to Curragh Chase Forest Park. Hoped to see forest but instead ended up hunting stars at 7PM :) My camera is almost blind at this point but still weather was great and it was unusual to go around the forest in darkness with the phone in hand just to see where are you going :D

Welcome to Limerick Insider on Limerick.ie!
In this episode we take a look at some exciting tourist spots in Limerick including Curraghchase Forest Park, Lough Gur and the Frank McCourt Museum. We also take a look back at the recent Africa Day celebrations in Limerick.
Lough Gur is one of Ireland's most important archaeological sites. You will be captivated by the beauty, charm and tranquillity of this ancient place. The visitor centre tells the story of Pre-Celtic Ireland dating back to 3000 BC. The interpretation includes a slide show, imaginative exhibition models and interpretative panels.
Curraghchase Forest Park is a fantastic amenity, recently upgraded, for all the family to enjoy. The Park covers 313 hectares of mixed woodlands, park land and lakes which together provide a rich habitat for a diverse range of animals and plants. There are a number of looped way marked trails in the park to suit all visitors.
The Frank McCourt Museum is a quirky little museum is housed in Leamy House, formerly Leamy School, the school Frank attended during his childhood, as described in his best-selling memoir; Angel's Ashes.
Limerick enjoyed the sights and sounds of its African communities with a fun filled weekend of colourful events to celebrate Africa Day over the weekend of 25th - 27th May. A series of FREE family events took place showcasing many aspects of African culture, including music, sport, games, literature and art.

At the Park - Dublin Road, Limerick, Ireland [720p]
It's only in 720p not 1080 Full HD because i lost my SD card data from the drone and could not recover files. It's a video i recorded through wi-fi transmission from the drone into my cell phone. (DJi app record it automatically) The quality of video depend from quality of WI-FI reception at current time but I think it's quite good quality. At least I have it in this quality from that backup video. The moment when drone was very high the video ha lower quality because of weaker signal.
Recorded at O'Brien's Park, Dublin Street, Limerick, Ireland on 10th of August 2018 using DJi Spark drone.
