Day trip to Curtis Island | Queensland, Australia
Hi travellers,
Off the coast of Gladstone in Queensland is Curtis Island. It makes for a lovely day trip or you can stay here at yellow patch. You can bring your 4WD on the ferry too.
We just went for the day and hung out at the beaches on both the east and west sides of the island, not far from where the ferry terminal drops you. There are plenty of recreational activities to do on Curtis island, such as camping, fishing, 4WDing.
Curtis Island is part of the southern Great Barrier reef and is well worth a visit. It's easy to pop over on the ferry, even just for the day as I did. The water is such a beautiful colour and its so quiet there. It's clean and well looked after.
We drove down from Rockhampton in the morning and caught the ferry across.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Queensland (abbreviated as Qld) is the second-largest and third-most populous state in the Commonwealth of Australia. Situated in the north-east of the country, it is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean. To its north is the Torres Strait, with Papua New Guinea located less than 200 km across it from the mainland. The state is the world's sixth-largest sub-national entity, with an area of 1,852,642 square kilometres (715,309 sq mi).
As of 15 May 2018, Queensland has a population of 5,000,000, concentrated along the coast and particularly in the state's South East. The capital and largest city in the state is Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city. Often referred to as the Sunshine State, Queensland is home to 10 of Australia's 30 largest cities and is the nation's third-largest economy. Tourism in the state, fuelled largely by its warm tropical climate, is a major industry.
Queensland was first inhabited by Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606, who explored the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula near present-day Weipa. In 1770, Lieutenant James Cook claimed the east coast of Australia for the Kingdom of Great Britain. The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788 by Governor Arthur Phillip at Sydney; New South Wales at that time included all of what is now Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. Queensland was explored in subsequent decades until the establishment of a penal colony at Brisbane in 1824 by John Oxley. Penal transportation ceased in 1839 and free settlement was allowed from 1842.
The state was named in honour of Queen Victoria, who on 6 June 1859 signed Letters Patent separating the colony from New South Wales. Queensland Day is celebrated annually statewide on 6 June. Queensland was one of the six colonies which became the founding states of Australia with federation on 1 January 1901.

I have finally got my big red boat floating again and i am very keen to enter the most exciting fishing comp i have ever entered.
Normally a small but extremely talented field, some of the best bream anglers in Australia.
As history goes with this comp it's always a gentleman's comp where all anglers respect the other anglers and never chop each other of for a fish.
In all the years i've entered the ABT (Australian Bream Tournaments) i have consistently choked one day out of the three and feel i have missed many opportunities by not being able to control the adrenalin rush of these events.
My daughter Grace has come along today and a mate who you can clearly see i am grooming him as a tournament angler.
In this part i start down in the dirty end at the top boundary of our competition grounds just looking to see how fast and what bag weight i could get there.
The fish are not the comp winners i need but just nice settlers with very little stress to catch a full limit in an hour.
That's not too bad if i can work a higher risk pattern for the other 6 hours to get those kicker fish I will need.
The comp is three days and that makes it more complex than one dayers where the tide will vary the bight each day and then what weather patterns that happen each day will determine what they are eating.
19th century
The 19th century was the century marked by the collapse of the Spanish, First and Second French, Chinese, Holy Roman and Mughal empires. This paved the way for the growing influence of the British Empire, the Russian Empire, the United States, the German Empire, the Second French Colonial Empire and the Empire of Japan.
