Covered Bridges of Madison County - Winterset, Iowa
Madison County, Iowa is home to six covered bridges out of an original 19 such bridges in the county. The area celebrates this heritage with an Annual Covered Bridge Festival.
The county's bridges came to national fame first in the 1992 Robert James Waller best-selling book The Bridges of Madison County, and then later in the 1995 Clint Eastwood-directed movie of the same name.
But that's not Madison County's only Hollywood connection. Western legend John Wayne was born here.

The vlog starts off with it being an absolutely beautiful day and another Aston Villa match. Once again my team lost and they didn't even look competitive for long stretches in the match. That couldn't get me down though as I began to get ready for the wedding by emptying out my car before getting dressed and heading out to lunch at Rock Bottom.
After lunch I picked up Alex, the wedding officiant, and got him from his hotel to the location of the wedding.
It was an absolutely perfect day at the Cutler-Donahoe bridge. The bridge was built in 1870 and it was marked with all the people who had been married inside of it.
After a bunch of pictures and one quick errand for me, it was show time and it was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. I shared as much as I was comfortable sharing as there are some things in my mind that need to be respectful of the religious beliefs and shared moments. That said, I am a little bummed I didn't get a shot of the group selfie we all did.
After the ceremony we all made our way to the Summerset Winery for the reception and it was an absolute blast. So much so I only remembered to break out the camera a handful of times. That said, the guys looked like they were really enjoying themselves and the moment and their first dance was amazingly cute.
All in all a good day where everyone had fun and two of my friends made a public commitment to love one another.

Longest Covered bridge in America, 4th in the World
As Sylvie and I roam around this great country, we stumble upon some really neat sights off the beaten path. This bridge is located in Ashtabula County, Ohio. It is the longest covered bridge in the United States – a title formerly held by the Cornish–Windsor Covered Bridge in New Hampshire – and is also the fourth longest covered bridge in the world!
