Cuyamaca State Park Camping - California Camping
Cuyamaca State Park camping over Memorial Weekend - May 2017. Stayed in the Paso Picacho loop, site number 1. This is my favorite site in the entire campground. Beautiful meadow views, and one evening a few deer came through.
I hope you enjoy the video. Please leave your comments and questions. Thanks for watching.

Cuyamaca Rancho: Camping and Hiking to Green Valley Falls
On this trip, I spend 2 nights camping at Paso Picacho Campground in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, about an hour east of San Diego, California. On the first night, I relaxed at the campsite and made a campfire. On the second day, I drove about 5 miles south of the campground and enjoyed a short hike to Green Valley Falls.
All video and audio was recorded on an Apple iPhone Xs and edited using iMovie. All music was performed by myself on a Martin acoustic guitar, and arranged and edited using GarageBand.

Snow Hiking to Cuyamaca Peak | San Diego Hikes
In this video, Katie and I hike from the Paso Picacho Campground in the Cuyamaca State Park up to Cuyamaca Peak. After getting hearing about a fresh dusting of snow on the San Diego mountains we got suited and booted and scurried up to break trail. The hike was amazing and the views from the top, spectacular. I very happy we got out there as quickly as we did. Snow is not known to stick around long in Southern California so by time we were headed down, lower elevations had already turned to slush.

Driving through Cuyamaca Mountains on California Route 78
State Route 78 (SR 78) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California that runs from Oceanside east to Blythe, traversing nearly the entire width of the state. Its western terminus is at Interstate 5 (I-5) in San Diego County and its eastern terminus is at I-10 in Riverside County. The route is a freeway through the heavily populated cities of northern San Diego County and a two-lane highway running through the Cuyamaca Mountains to Julian. In Imperial County, SR 78 travels through the desert near the Salton Sea and passes through the city of Brawley before turning north and passing through an area of sand dunes on the way to its terminus in Blythe.
SR 78 was one of the original state highways designated in 1934, although portions of the route existed as early as 1900. However, it was not designated east of Brawley until 1959. The freeway section in the North County of San Diego that connects Oceanside and Escondido was built in the middle of the twentieth century in several stages, including a transitory stage known as the Vista Way Freeway, and has been improved several times. An expressway bypass of the city of Brawley was completed in 2012. There are many projects slated to improve the freeway due to increasing congestion in the region.

After Storm, San Diegans Head For Snow In The Mountains
It may be Black Friday but many San Diegans are seeing white, thanks to a powerful, cold wet winter-like storm. Snow in our mountains is making for treacherous travel, but fun for those once they got there.
