MARKET DAY IN HOBART | Mountain Biking The North-South Track - Tasmania, Australia
Our final full day in Tasmania, and it’s a jam-packed itinerary at Hobart! We visit a bike shop for an emergency dropper remote fix, hit up the famous Salamanca Market, and do the tourist thing at the top of Mt. Wellington. No day is complete, however, without a ride - and so we make a descent of the North-South Track, a mixed-use trail that has surprising goodies in-store for mountain bikers!

CYCLING TASMANIA! | East Coast - Cole's Bay to Hobart (RaD Ep 41)
Rad Bike Adventure Episode 41????:
Cycling Tasmania's East Coast: beautiful, breezy (ok...freaking windy), and sunshine filled! Even got to see a few local wild animals too ????. The hills continued to challenge us, but the constant unreal views kept us distracted from the pain. ;)
Getting stronger now, we can't get enough of the hilly, windy, gravel roads.
In this vid, we head from the quiet of Cole's Bay in Freycinet National Park south to, bit more bustling but still laid back, Hobart, the state's capital. Cool, vibin' little city btw...fun continues in the next eppy (which is i'm sure what Australians call an episode heh)!
Get out there and find your adventure...and stay RAD friends!

++Wait, what's RaD?: Ryan And Darin (that's us! yes...we both have boy names...is that weird?). Get it? ...r And d...RAD.
++The Adventure: riding our bikes around a bunch of different places in this world for a year. Seeing new sights, trying new foods, meeting lots of new people, visiting old friends and generally having a swell ol' time challenging ourselves to EXPLORE MORE(!) from the saddle of a bicycle. Yay!

CYCLING TASMANIA | West Coast - Hobart to Derwent Bridge (RaD Ep 42)
Rad Bike Adventure Episode 42 ????:
Cycling the East Coast of Tasmania was incredible (bee/ant sting aside) with old forests and beautiful coastline. But this next section, well, cycling the WILD WEST Coast was going to be more challenging.
We'd seen the relief maps and talked to other cyclists. Lots more climbing and volatile weather we'd been oft reminded of and warned about was to be expected. Were we ready for it? About to find out...
Hobart was a nice rest stop, but it was time to roll onward. West Coast tally ho

City Description:
Hobart, capital of Australia's island state of Tasmania, sits on the River Derwent. At its fashionable Salamanca Place, old sandstone warehouses host galleries and cafes. Nearby is Battery Point, a historic district with narrow lanes and colonial-era cottages. The city's backdrop is 1,270m-high Mount Wellington, with sweeping views, plus hiking and cycling trails. The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), built into underground galleries, exhibits art of antiquity along with contemporary works. The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery focuses on Aboriginal heritage, local history and native wildlife, with notable colonial-era displays. Established in 1818, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens highlight native plants. North of the city, the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is home to rescued animals including Tasmanian devils, wallabies and kangaroos. The Tassie MTB Road Trip: Hobart
Tasmania's mountain bike scene is completely off the charts, with riding right across the island and more on the way. We loaded up the camper and hit the road for a week of amazing, diverse trails. Along the way we rode in Launceston, Hollybank, Derby, Maria Island, Hobart, the West Coast and Penguin - and there's plenty more to explore!
Hobart could quite easily lay claim to being the best mountain bike capital city in Australia. There's so much riding here, and so close to town. The Meehan Range and Clarence MTB Park have days and days worth of trails to explore. Then on the other side of the River Derwent you've got the labyrinth of South Hobart's trails, the legendary North South Track and Glenorchy MTB Park. Plus the Maydena MTB is on the way too, just down the road!

Tangara Trail Mountain Bike Ride - Lauderdale, Hobart, Tasmania
Filmed on 5th April 2014 - PLEASE WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY 720P OR 1080P!!
The Tangara Trail is a series of interconnected trails around the Lauderdale and South Arm area of Hobart, Tasmania. Beginning in Lauderdale, we head south to Mortimer's Bay return and then continue on to Roche's Beach and the top end of Seven Mile Beach. 55km's total of riding.
The whole track is quite easy and would be great for less experienced mountain bike riders with fast flowing downhill sections that will still keep experienced riders happy. There are some sections that are ridden on bitumen between the interconnected dirt trails and I would recommend being very careful in the traffic along South Arm Road as it can get quite busy.
This mountain bike video is shot with a Garmin VIRB Elite with speed, altitude, gradient and map overlaid.
