Direct Factory Outlets, abbreviated as DFO, is the name for a no-frills group of discount shopping centres in Australia. They are large-floor warehouse buildings containing partitioned stores where retail outlets sell excess or previous seasons' stocks at reduced prices.
South Wharf is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 2 km south-west of Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government areas are the Cities of Melbourne and Port Phillip.
South Wharf is a small inner suburb south west from Melbourne's CBD. Its borders are the Yarra River to the north, Wurundjeri Way to the west, the West Gate Freeway and a small private car park bordering Ford Street and Munro Street, which is part of the City of Port Phillip, to the south and the former Port Melbourne railway line and Clarendon Street to the east.
Gazetted in 2008 and formerly part of the industrial and shipping area of Southbank, the renaming is part of a wider urban renewal strategy to link Southbank with the Melbourne Docklands.
South Wharf includes some of Melbourne's landmarks, including the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre and the Melbourne Maritime Museum, with its heritage Polly Woodside.
South Wharf is also home to many apartments, shopping outlet Direct Factory Outlets and the 5-star luxury hotel Pan Pacific Hotel

This day was SO MUCH FUN! We really explored the Docklands area, DFO South Wharf and Melbourne Central. If you're going to Melbourne, I highly recommend going to DFO South Wharf cos there are so many stores with amazing discounts. Another shopping recommendation of mine would be Melbourne Central Mall because if you're a makeup junkie like meeee, there's not just Sephora but MECCA MAXIMA as well and they are AMAZING.

The Seafarers Bridge is a footbridge over the Yarra River between Docklands and South Wharf in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
The bridge connects the north and south banks of the river while providing a formal entrance to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The bridge main span is supported by steel ties connected to elliptical arches, with three arches on the north side and four arches on the south side.
The bridge was named in homage to the ‘Mission to Seafarers’ centre located nearby on the northern bank of the Yarra River and to represent Melbourne’s rich maritime history.

DFO Homebush | Direct Factory Outlet Mall
It was so scorching hot in Sydney on this day 04 January 2020 so we decided to drive over to the Direct Factory Outlet Mall in Homebush, New South Wales to enjoy the airconditioned cool temperatures in the mall and also to have a look at the products in the shops.
Happy to also met by chance our dear friends Kay and Jon who were also spending time at the DFO in Homebush.
We have been to quite a few direct factory outlets in the USA and Hawaii during our visits there in the past and we have always enjoyed the great sale brands they offer.
Knowing how expensive shopping is in Australia, we tried to see if we can get some good deals in DFO Homebush.
The verdict? Well, they have products on sale that are quite cheaper when compared to the ones being sold at the shops in Sydney city CBD, but still quite pricy in my opinion.

This is the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre in South Wharf, Melbourne, Australia.
This is where the big exhibitions are held in Melbourne.
On this particular day, they had some sort of gym/exercise exhibition going on.
I was wondering why there were so many buff people around the area that day. It made me feel small lol
But this building structure is quite interesting. I love how the pillars outside of the building are all on a slant.
It looks very symmetrical and is great for all those Instagram snaps.
It's also a great area to just walk around if it's a nice sunny day like this.
Be sure to check it out, if you are in the area. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it ;)
