My next baseball journey took me to Daegu, so I could catch the Samsung Lions. By opening their stadium in 2016, they have one of the more modern facilities in the KBO, but it's filled with an old school crowd and one classic Korean Baseball atmosphere.

這是第三次來到韓國大邱去年夏天來大邱參加了『大邱炸雞啤酒節』可說是韓國夏日活動中最大的一場啤酒與炸雞的慶典，今年夏天來大邱則是來感受韓國棒球文化的熱情，雖說遇到了颱風來攪局但老天爺還是讓我們有機會在全韓國職棒都因為颱風停賽的情況之下，只有『Daegu Samsung Lions Park』開賽，讓我們沒白來一趟！

The Korean pro-baseball season has reached its halfway point. The league has seen about a 15% increase in spectators from last year and, at this rate, may draw nearly 9 million people by the season's end.

It's become a familiar sight to see baseball fans in their favorite players' uniforms, enthusiastically cheering for their teams. The average number of spectators per game this season stands at 11,945, about 15% more than last season. At this rate, roughly 8.6 million people will have attended the games during the regular season. Having started by drawing 1.43 million fans in its debut year of 1982, the Korean pro baseball league is experiencing its greatest ever popularity this year.
[Soundbite] Lee Seung-yeop(Samsung Lions) : I will have to look for ways to provide more services and get closer to the fans during the remainder of my playing days.
Park Byung-ho and other big stars have gone on to play in baseball leagues overseas, but Korean fans now tend to root for teams, not individual players, so the impact on the league's business is minimal.
[Soundbite] Kim Min-soo(Baseball fan) : I bought a season pass for the first time this year, and I plan to do so next year as well.
New baseball stadiums which opened in Gocheok and Daegu this season are enjoying the effects of the new venues, drawing over 50% more fans. Fierce competition for the league's five top spots by such strong teams as the Hanhwa Eagles, LG Twins, Lotte Giants, and Kia Tigers is also driving the Korean baseball league's popularity.
