Hi guys! I little while ago I hopped on an early morning bus and headed east in search of sheep lol maybe this is prep for my Scotland trip? Anyway, Pyeongchang is so lovely and even though the wind was wild, it was a gorgeous day. I'm glad I was able to fit in Gangneung too because that short time at the beach HEALED me I swear haha. Definitely a great autumn day trip from Seoul (but plan your transportation better than I did!!) Thanks for joining me^^

Daegwallyeong (Hangul: 대관령; Hanja: 大關嶺) is a mountain pass in the Taebaek Mountainsof eastern South Korea. It runs between Pyeongchang and Gangneung in Gangwon Province. It rises to 832 metres (2,730 ft) above sea level.[1] It is an important historical pass that connects the regions of Yeongseoand Yeongdong. Daegwallyeong-myeon of Pyeongchang County is named after this pass. Daegwallyeong Museum is located in Gangneung.

The International Olympic Committee announced that the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in 2018 are awarded to the city of Pyeongchang. South Korea will once again host the Olympics, this time, it will be the winter games about a month later.
With the upcoming Winter Pyeongchang Olympics, a record number of foreigners are going to be coming to South Korea for the first time. So this season, we shot the downtown area of the city where the PyeongChang Olympic Games are held or nearby city.
This series includes downtown scenes in Sokcho-si, Yangyang County, Gangneung-si, Pyeongchang County. And Seoul–Yangyang Expressway that offers better access to PyeongChang Olympic venues. People coming here must not miss our Pyeongchang Olympic Series!
Gangneung is the city where the actual PyeongChang Olympic Games are held and is the center of ice sports playing on ice rinks.
In Gangneung Olympic Park, Curling, Ice hockey, Speed Skating, Short Track and Figure Skating are held.

???? About Gangneung-si (강릉시)
Gangneung (Korean pronunciation: [kaŋ.nɯŋ]) is a city in Gangwon-do, on the east coast of South Korea. It has a population of 213,658 (as of 2017). Gangneung is the economic center of the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province. Gangneung has many tourist attractions, such as Jeongdongjin, a very popular area for watching the sunrise, and Gyeongpo Beach. There is a ROK airbase south of downtown Gangneung which formerly doubled as a civil airport.
The city will host all the ice events for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Located in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Jeongdongjin is a picturesque area with a quaint, little railway station standing alongside the sandy beach.
The combination of the area’s railroad station, beach, and groves of pine trees makes Jeongdongjin a very peaceful and romantic mini getaway. The highlight of the Jeongdongjin tour, however, is the sunrise. The early morning sun reaching out over the ocean and outlining the dewy silhouettes of the station and surrounding pines is a sight that is straight out of a fairy tale.

The 2nd day of staying in Samcheok for my Winter Vacation, the weather decided to SNOW SNOW SNOW all day long. I eventually decided to record video and make a short video with a bunch of clips put together. Very beautiful snowfall!

A Trip to Find a Family's Roots
PJ Rogers is a father of five who has been living in Korea for 15 years. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, but he is Korean at heart, and hopes that his children will continue to live in Korea as he did. He takes off on a very special trip with his wife and five children, who all love Korea. It has been a while since they went traveling together, and their destination is Gangneung, Gangwon-do Province ?a place that holds a special significance for the family. Gangneung, which lies two to three hours from Seoul, is irreplaceable in the history of the Rogers.
Seven years ago, PJ and Lori were on a date in Gangneung. At the time, Lori had two daughters ?Jaeda and Amaya. While PJ was traveling with Lori and her two girls, he decided to ask Lori to marry him, and they became a family a year later. Years passed, and three more children were born before they returned to Gangneung.
The Rogers family's relationship with Gangneung actually began with PJ's father.
Sixty years ago, PJ's father was stationed in Gangneung as an American soldier in the Korean War. He liked it so much that he dreamed of living there even after the war was over. PJ grew up hearing his father뭩 stories about Korea and Gangneung, and on this trip, he traces through his memories of those stories with his wife and children. On their second day in Gangneung, the Rogers family decides to try something a little different ?Korean-style camping! The family had gone camping often in the U.S., but this is their first camping experience in Korea. PJ wants to teach his children about the glory of the outdoors, as his father had done for him. The family pitches a tent, plays in the sand, and sets up a barbecue outside. How will the children enjoy it?

In this video, we shop for Olympic merchandise to celebrate the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. I went to the Lotte Department Store in MyeongDong. The PyeongChang Olympic merchandise is on the 9th Floor near the Duty Free shop.
We are not attending the winter olympics because of the cold weather and transportation problems that a lot of ticket holders are experiencing, but to get into the spirit of the olympics, I decided to check out some of the cute olympic souvenirs and merchandise and buy a few things for friends and family. I also took my daughter to a special exhibit at the Children's Museum at the National Museum of Korea that celebrates the tiger in Korean literature and culture. I forgot to mention this in the video, but the exhibit is also free!
