Jeonju - 16th largest city in South Korea | Cinematic Arial View | 전주, 대한민국 2019 【4K】
Drone Flight in Jeonju:
Jeonju is the 16th largest city in South Korea and the capital of North Jeolla Province. It is both urban and rural due to the closeness of Wanju County which almost entirely surrounds Jeonju (Wanju County has many residents who work in Jeonju). The name Jeonju literally means Perfect Region. It is an important tourist center famous for Korean food, historic buildings, sports activities, and innovative festivals.
In May 2012, Jeonju was chosen as a Creative Cities for Gastronomy as part of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network. This honour recognizes the city's traditional home cooking handed down over thousands of years, its active public and private food research, a system of nurturing talented chefs, and its hosting of distinctive food festivals.
HISTORY:
In the fertile Honam plain, famous for Jeonju Hanok Village and exceptional produce, Jeonju has been an important regional center in the province for centuries. The city was the capital of Hubaekje Kingdom, which was founded by Gyeon Hwon. Under Hubaekje, it was known as Wansanju. It was regarded as the spiritual capital of the Joseon Dynasty because the Yi royal family originated there. The town was occupied by the Donghak peasants' movement in 1894.[2] Jeonju was given metropolitan status in 1935, and the city was founded in 1949.
Since the Joseon Dynasty period, it was a metropolis, but it did not experience industrialization in the 20th century compared to other parts of Korea. It does not have the industrial infrastructure, manufacturing, or heavy industries found in other Korean major cities. Today, traditional touring and sight seeing is a major industry in the city.
CULTURE:
Jeonju bibimbap 전주비빔밥, a traditional local food, is well known across South Korea. There are several very popular vegetarian restaurants serving Jeonju style food and pine wine.[4]
The National Jeonju Museum exhibits ancient relics from the Baekje days.
There are extensive royal museums, temples, a castle fortress on a hillside, and a well-known paper museum, as well as an annual paper fashion show highlighting the latest styles and traditional Korean clothing made of paper.
The Jeonju Hanok Village (Hanok Maeul) is a traditional-style village in the heart of Jeonju, housing over 800 traditional hanok style buildings. It contains many traditional tea shops, souvenir shops, and restaurants.
Jeongdong Catholic Church was built 1908–1914 by French priest Xavier Baudonet on the site of the Korean Catholic martyrs in 1791 and 1801. This Byzantine and Romanesque church has been designated Korea National Treasure No. 288.
The Jeonju International Sori Festival was among Songlines' 25 Best International Festivals in 2014.
The Jeonju International Film Festival draws about 50,000 visitors annually.
The local mountains and parks are popular for outdoor recreation due to its rural location. There are historical sites in the area. The city has a zoo, a park, and the Hanguk Sound and Culture Hall, a large, modern concert complex on the Chonbuk National University campus.
TRANSPORTATIONS:
Many city buses and taxis are available in Jeonju. However, tourists are often advised to walk between points of interest, as many attractions are near each other.
ATTRACTIONS:
Jeonju International Film Festival usually runs from the end of April to May for one week annually.
SPORTS:
Jeonju hosts K League team Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC. The team's home ground is the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

【4K】서울역 Walking around Seoul Station, Seoul ????????
■ Seoul Station (서울역)
Seoul Station is the gateway to Seoul, the capital city of Korea. It is a terminus for Gyeongbu line (Seoul-Busan) KTX (Korea Train Express) trains as well as Saemaul, Mugunghwa and Nooriro trains. It is also connected to Incheon International Airport by AREX (Airport Express).
Seoul Station serves the highest number of passengers in Korea, with a daily average of 100,000 passengers going in and out of the train station complex, which includes the new building completed in 2003. Moreover, the nearby Galleria Department Store and Lotte Mart Discount Store add to the station's attraction.
■ Culture Station Seoul 284 (문화역서울284)
Culture Station Seoul 284 restored the prototype of old Seoul Station, which was the main stage of Korean modern history in Korea and the gateway of traffic and exchange, and opened in 2011 as a Cultural Complex.
□ Present Modern Sensibility to Gyeongseong Station, Seoul
Korea’s railroad history began with the Gyeongin Line. In 1900, the Gyeongin Line was extended to Namdaemun Station in Seoul, and the woodwork history at that time was called Namdaemun Station, which was the beginning of Gyeongseong Station and the beginning of history.
During the three-year construction period from 1922 to 1925, Renaissance architecture was newly built. The new history of the South Manchuria Railways Company has changed its name to Gyeongseong station.
With significant scale of the Gyongseong station, the European-style exotic appearance of red bricks, granite floors, artificial walls, and the Betula schmidtii Regel floor made headlines. In particular, the first Luncheon bar “Grill” on the second floor became so popular that it called the Luncheon bar itself a drawing.
During the three-year construction period from 1922 to 1925, Renaissance architecture was newly built. The new history of the South Manchuria Railways Company has changed its name to Gyeongseong station.
As a platform to create and interact with Culture · Art, various programs such as exhibitions, performances, and workshops are held. In 1900, it changed from Namdaemun Station to Gyeongseong Station and Seoul Station to become Culture Station Seoul 284. Meet 100 years of history against time.

■Seoullo 7017 (서울로7017)
In the 1970s, an elevated road was built to connect the eastern and western sides around Seoul Station. However, the road was closed to road traffic due to safety issues. After this, rather than tearing down the existing structure, the road was transformed into Seoullo 7017, a new pedestrian walking experience.
Seoullo 7017 gets its name from its years of new life, from being a traffic road in the 70s to a sky garden in 2017. The 17 also has a deeper meaning, with Seoullo 7017 being divided into 17 unique sections, and the road being located 17 meters above the ground.
There are a variety of facilities along Seoullo 7017, including an information center, cafes, gardens, and stages. Seoullo 7017 itself is open all day, every day for visitors to enjoy at their leisure. If you would like a guided tour, be sure to sign up for the guided walking tour through the official Visit Seoul website.

The legacy of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the park not only houses the country’s largest sports arena, but has also become a place where Seoul residents come to relax and unwind.
Arts & Culture: Part 1 - The National Library of Sejong City
And now it's time for our Arts & Culture segment with Lee Tae Ho, and today he has news about a new cultural landmark that is making headlines. Good afternoon, Tae Ho.
Good afternoon, Conn-young.
So, what is this new cultural landmark that has been so popular with the masses?
Well, it's definitely not what most people have in mind when they think of cultural landmarks. And in this age of high-tech digital media, it's a facility that definitely has a modern edge.
The old adage never judge a book by its cover, definitely applies to this brand new building in the city of Sejong.
What looks to be an open book -- or a row of books stacked on a shelf -- is actually the National Library of Sejong.
I've brought a lot of friends here.
And why did you bring them here?
Because the facilities and the view are excellent
The new facility was created to provide public servants who have recently moved to the area as part of a government relocation plan... with a central location for policy data.
However, it is easy to see that there are more local residents and visitors here than government workers, which is in part because of the lack of other cultural facilities in the fast developing city and the brand new books that are available.
As a result, 13 percent of the library's books are checked out on a regular basis, an abnormally high rate.
The high quality of the interior has also made it a popular spot for local residents to gather, in addition to attracting visitors.
There are so many books available, and the digital reference room and other resources are so modern, it makes it a great atmosphere for studying or reading.
Another feature that makes the library so popular is the beautiful sky lounge on the fourth floor.
Since opening in December, the library has also been extremely popular as a benchmark, which is evidenced by the number of tours taken by people who work at other libraries.
There have been many visitors from many different places. Of course, there have been visits from people who work at other public libraries and university libraries, and the number of tour requests from organizers who are planning to open similar kinds of facilities
has been overwhelming.
This brand new cultural oasis in the administrative city of Sejong is open from nine to six, with plans to extend hours until 9 p.m. currently in the works.

Artist Creates Trees that Grow 40 Different Fruits
Although it sounds too good to be true, an artist at Syracuse University has created a tree that can bear dozens of different fruit such as peaches, plums, apricots, and nectarines.
The technique to create the trees is surprisingly low-tech and involves cutting a piece of one tree and inserting it into the other.
And if the idea of one tree growing 40 different kinds of fruit sounds out of this world, so too is the price. The artists sells his trees for US$30,000 a pop.

Seoul Drone Flight: Seoul (/soʊl/, like soul; Korean: 서울 [sʰʌ.ul] ; lit. Capital), officially the Seoul Special City, is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea. With surrounding Incheon metropolis and Gyeonggi province, Seoul forms the heart of the Seoul Capital Area. Seoul is ranked as the fourth largest metropolitan economy in the world and is larger than London and Paris. Strategically situated on the Han River, Seouls history stretches back over two thousand years, when it was founded in 18 BCE by the people of Baekje, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. As with its long history, the Seoul Capital Area contains five UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Changdeok Palace, Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Namhansanseong and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. More recently, Seoul has been a major site of modern architectural construction – major modern landmarks include the N Seoul Tower, the 63 Building, the Lotte World Tower, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Lotte World, Trade Tower, COEX, and the IFC Seoul. Seoul was named the 2010 World Design Capital. As the birthplace of K-pop and the Korean Wave, Seoul received over 10 million international visitors in 2014, making it the worlds 9th most visited city and 4th largest earner in tourism. Today, Seoul is considered a leading and rising global city, resulting from the South Korean economic boom - commonly referred to as the Miracle on the Han River - which transformed it into the worlds 7th largest metropolitan economy with a GDP of US$635.4 billion in 2014 after Tokyo, New York City and Los Angeles. International visitors generally reach Seoul via AREX from the Incheon International Airport, notable for having been rated the best airport for nine consecutive years (2005–2013) by the Airports Council International. In 2015, it was rated Asias most livable city with the second highest quality of life globally by Arcadis, with the GDP per capita (PPP) in Seoul being $39,786. Inhabitants of Seoul are faced with a high cost of living, for which the city was ranked 6th globally in 2017. Seoul is also an extremely expensive real estate market, ranked 5th in the world for the price of apartments in the downtown center. With major technology hubs centered in Gangnam and Digital Media City, the Seoul Capital Area is home to the headquarters of 15 Fortune Global 500 companies, including Samsung, LG, and Hyundai. Ranked sixth in the Global Power City Index and Global Financial Centres Index, the metropolis exerts a major influence in global affairs as one of the five leading hosts of global conferences. Seoul has hosted the 1986 Asian Games, 1988 Summer Olympics, 2002 FIFA World Cup, and more recently the 2010 G-20 Seoul summit. // Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is a huge metropolis where modern skyscrapers, high-tech subways and pop culture meet Buddhist temples, palaces and street markets. Notable attractions include futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a convention hall with curving architecture and a rooftop park; Gyeongbokgung Palace, which once had more than 7,000 rooms; and Jogyesa Temple, site of ancient locust and pine trees. Other highlights include the National Museum of Korea and War Memorial of Korea, dedicated to the countrys history and art, plus Lotte World, a massive amusement park located next to supertall skyscraper Lotte World Tower. Neighborhoods range from the ritzy shopping district of Gangnam and trendy, nightlife-centric Hongdae to expat-oriented Itaewon and villagelike Insa-dong, full of Korean barbecue joints, tearooms and noodle shops. Dividing them is the Han River, lined with parks and promenades. Just outside town, N Seoul Tower, atop Namsan Mountain, offers panoramic views, while 836m Bukhan Mountain is a popular hiking spot. 10. Dadohae Haesang National Park
At the bottom of South Korea is the Dadohae Haesang National Park, 1,700 islands spread out across the southern coastal waters. These islets vary in size with some home to isolated communities while some hold merely a few dozen trees. Cheongsando is one of the larger islands. Translated to ‘Blue Mountain Island’, it’s a ‘slow city’ meaning it’s one of the best places to discover genuine and authentic culture.
09. Suwon
Suwon is the largest metropolis of Gyeonggi-do, the province which surrounds Seoul. The Hwaseong Fortress was built in 1794 by the Joseon dynasty ruler King Jeongjo with the aim to move the capital from Seoul to Suwon. However, before this could happen King Jeongjo died and power stayed in Seoul.
08. Busan
South Korea’s second biggest city, Busan brings together tropical beaches and majestic mountains, ancient Buddhist temples and a glamorous film festival. Busan is famous for its delicious seafood with many restaurants and the Jagalchi fish market. For incredible vistas of the intriguing city, hike to the top of Jangan Mountain. While many of Korea’s temples are nestled in hills and mountains, the Haedong Yonggung Temple is on Busan’s coast overlooking the Sea of Japan.
07. Pyeongchang
A peaceful place with astonishing scenery, Pyeongchang has seen a lot of development in recent years. It’s found in the Taeback Mountains region with parts of it sitting 2,300 feet above sea level. With lots of seasonal snow and maximum temperatures reaching just above freezing in January, it’s the perfect location for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
06. Andong & Hahoe Folk Villages
Andong’s peaceful, rural surroundings are in stark contrast to the buzz of Seoul. Set in the heart of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Andong is noted for having preserved much of its traditional spirit. A great place to see Korean traditions unfold is the cultural village of Hahoe, where the noble Ryu family originated and have lived for the past 600 years.
05. The Demiliterized Zone (DMZ)
The Korean DMZ or Korean Demilitarized Zone is a buffer zone between North and South Korea. Created in 1953 at the end of the Korean War, the DMZ remains as one of the most militarized regions in the world.
04. Jeju Island
Although it lies only 85km off the coast of South Korea, Jeju Island (more specifically Jeju-do) has developed its own unique history, traditional dress, architecture and linguistic traditions. With a moderate climate that differs surprisingly from the mainland, Jeju-do has a sub-tropical southern side and a more temperate northern region.
03. Seoraksan National Park
Designated as a Biosphere Protection Site by UNESCO, the 400 000 sq km Seoraksan National Park’s unique rock formations, wildlife, hot springs, dense woodland and temples from the Silla-era make it an area of South Korea that simply has to be visited. Each area of this incredibly beautiful park has its own unique appeal and attractions.
02. Gyeongju
Once the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla, Gyeongju is a coastal city in South Korea with a rich selection of cultural and historical attractions. Its Silla heritage stretches back over 1000 years, with ancient sites, relics and ruins found throughout the city. The Gyeongju National Museum is home to countless treasures and the 23 ton Emille Bell cast in AD771. Gyeongju's other highlights include the scenic Anapji Pond, Tumuli Park which is the site of incredible giant grass-covered burial mounds and the ancient UNESCO World Heritage Listed Bulguk-sa Temple.
01. Seoul
The vibrant, modern city of Seoul definitively lives up to the ‘24-hour party’ tag that other cities can only pay lip service to. A buzzing urban expanse that is striving to reshape its hardened concrete and steel edges with gorgeous city parks, cultural landmarks and tasteful design. You’ll find a host of exciting places to eat, drink, shop and relax, whether you’re in Hongdae’s chic bars and restaurants or the stylish boutiques of Apgujeong.

The South Korean Love Industry
With one of the lowest birth rates in the world, South Korea is in danger of disappearing by the end of the millennium. If the situation stays as it is, South Koreans are predicted to become extinct by 2750. Because of the rapidly aging population, elderly prostitutes known as Bacchus ladies have cornered a number of public parks as their working areas. Meanwhile, South Korean kids are living with their families well into their 20s—as a result, an entire economy of sex motels has sprung up to give kids a place to fool around outside the watchful eyes of their parents.
We sent Matt Shea to investigate this generational crisis, which led him to Seoul's red-light district, a pre-wedding photo shoot on the set of a Korean soap opera, and an erotic sculpture park on South Korea's honeymoon island.
