Isle of Lewis and Harris by Drone.
In this video, you'll see some aerial shots of the island of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides Archipelago. It is the largest Scottish island and 3rd largest of all the British Isles.
The southern part of the island is mostly hilly but the north is scattered with beautiful, tropical-like beaches. The sad part is that the weather wasn't indulging enough to have a dip (even in mid summer). The places seen in this video are Bosta Beach, Scarista Beach, Luskentyre and the remote little peninsula of Great Bernera. We also managed to catch the last streaks of sunset in the enigmatic site of Callanish Standing Stones.
Most of the scenery has been captured by drone, namely Mavic Air with a bunch of PolarPro polarising filters. The rest of the shots are from Canon 80d.

Isle of Lewis, Harris & Skye - our adventure 2014
We decided to head up to the outer hebrides for new year 2014!
What a beautiful place. Every season of weather in one day. Trip inspired by the amazing Peter May trilogy.
Can't wait to return!!
Beautiful Taransay, Outer Hebrides, West Scotland
Taransay Mhor anchors off Taransay one of the islands of the Outer Hebrides. You can see our dinghy on the beach and the roof of The Bothy. We dressed Taransay in her flags for the occasion and clambered up the hill so Colin could try and capture the moment on camera. The day was just wonderful, warm and sunny a real contrast to the appalling spring weather of 2013.

On the road on the Isle of Lewis
Isle of Lewis, Scotland-peat, tradition and history.
This video was taken in the north of Lewis in the Hebrides. The two stacks of black turf comprise peat which is decayed vegetation, half way on the road to becoming coal. There are ample supplies of peat on Lewis which for generations has been used by local people for heating and cooking. When burnt peat gives off a pleasant aroma.
Final shot shows a couple of standing stones which probably date back to the Neolithic period and may possibly be 4000 years old.

World Business: Surfing in Scotland -- 13/05/11
World Business: Scotland may seem like an unusual location for a surfing competition, but Thurso in the country's far north is home to some spectacular waves. It is also home to a cold water surfing competition with 145-thousand dollars in total prize money. That provides a tough challenge for the world's top surfers.

North sea board short challenge 2009
I lost our fantasy surfer league again this year. The loser has to catch a wave..........in the north sea............in winter.............wearing only board shorts.
This was the coldest one i have done ( i have done 3). When i came out i thought my heart was gonna explode out of my chest...so much adrenalie or whatever rushing around my body...it felt a little scary.
it was OK paddling out...the duck dives were as you can imagoine AWFUL! when i did get out back i felt kinda OK for a little while but then started getting cold and panicing to get a good wave...
I was dissapointed not to ride the clean face...but i kinda lost my bearings out there and my positioning went out of the window...
I would normally have went in again with me wettie on but my bpdy got a real shock from this experience and i wasnt really up to surfing the rest of the day....
