In 2007, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche made a pilgrimage to Wutai Shan, which is also seen as the abode of Manjushri.
Mt. Wutaishan in Shanxi Province.
The Sakyong spent a week in China on pilgrimage
to Wu Tai Shan, one of China's sacred mountains
regarded as the abode of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of
wisdom. A highlight of the pilgrimage to Wu Tan Shan
was the opportunity to pay homage at a stupa built on
the mountain in honour of His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse
Rinpoche. See also The Year in Review. Video Commentary. For Shambhala Day 2008.

Chinese Martial Arts of Wutai Shan
Wu Tai Shan is one of the 4 holy mountain of buddhism in china. According to history the Bodhisatva Manjuri should have been stayed their for some time. The vid is some years old and the pictures are nice I think. Interessting was that the monks on the mountain seem to to also Gung Fu
Aside from Chang'an, WuTai Shan was probably the greatest center of Buddhism in all of China up until the anti-Buddhist persecutions in the Tang dynasty. There are many tales of monks on WuTaiShan who were great masters of martial arts. There are many martial arts that trace their origins to WuTaiShan including Jooklum TangLang. The original Jooklum temple was located there. From there it was brought to a branch temple on LongHu Shan in Jiangsu (Kwongsai) from which it spread to Guangdong.
View of Taihuai in Wutai Shan from Dailuo Ding Temple
This is the view of the town of Taihuai from Dailuo Ding Temple. (other names are Daluo Ding or Qingfeng). The temple is on the east side of Taihuai. Dailuo Ding is the name of the peak the temple is constructed on.
The temple was named as the Foding Nunnery at the beginning. It was built in the years of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1465-1487) and had been reconstructed in the years of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. It was renamed Dailuo Ding in the 51st year of Qianlong (1786).
It is said that Emperor Qianlong intended to prostrate himself before the statues of Wenshu (Manjushri) on the five peaks, but he was prevented by wind and rain several times. He told the monk Qingyuan; I want to prostrate before the statues of Wenshu on the five peaks next time when I come here in five years. Arrange it for me!. The monk got the idea in the fifth year to cast statues according to the images on the five peaks and put them in the hall, so the hall is called Wu Wenshu Dian Hall. The emperor prostrated before the images in the third lunar month of the 51st year of Qianlong (1786).
Making pilgrimage to the five peaks is called the Great Pilgrimage (and is done via bus in one day from Taihuai). Whereas making pilgrimage here is called the Minor Pilgrimage.
