Dalat Cathedral also known as Chicken Church because of having a big chicken on the top of bell-tower. It is also the largest church in Da Lat, one of the typical and the oldest architecture of the city by the French leave.

alat, also Da Lat (Ðà L?t), located in the South Central Highlands of Vietnam, was originally the playground of the French who built villas in the clear mountain air to escape the heat and humidity of the coast and of what was then called Saigon (now) officially known as Ho Chi Minh City.
Dalat is a mid-sized city that looks like a cross between Vietnam and the French Alps. Outside of the city centre, it is surrounded by a series of pine-covered hills, lakes, and higher peaks, making for some lovely scenery quite different from the rest of Vietnam....
There are many places around town to rent a bicycle, tandem or motorbike. Please consider carefully before you move to rent a motorbike, as according to the Vietnamese law you must be in the possession of a valid Vietnamese drivers license, to be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle in the country, failure to have one, cancels any insurance that the bike might come with and makes you liable according to the law for any damages and remember in South East Asia, you are always liable, as you are always guilty, as you are presumed to have more money then the other party. Hence you will have to pay for damages to the bike and its full value, damages to other people and their property, as well you might have just ruined your own vacation time, due to injury and of course hefty payments to third parties.

The St. Nicholas Cathedral (Vietnamese: Nhà thờ chính tòa Đà Lạt, French: Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas) also called St Nicholas of Bari Cathedral (Nhà Thờ Chình Toà Thánh Nicola Bari) is a Roman Catholic cathedral, seat of the diocese of Da Lat, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh (alternatively still called Saigon). It is located in Da Lat, capital of Lam Dong province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. There are five masses every Sunday. The building was built as a Catholic parish by the French in 1931-1932 in an eclectic style Romanesque, but the interior was not completed until 1942. It replaces an old church built in 1917 with modifications in the chancel.
The town in the mountains at 1,500 meters above sea level was then where the colonial elite and the Vietnamese came to rest and escape the heat. It is also a place where tuberculosis patients came for treatment in sanatoriums. The Pasteur Institute was opened in 1935. There was a European cemetery around the church, which is no longer in use. A bad morning start because of the weather. It had rained all night long and going up the mountain would be quite treacherous if there was any mudslides. We waited a couple of hours hoping that it would dry up a little. Then off we went, up to a place could Da Lat, 1,500mt high.

Đà Lạt, the capital of Lâm Đồng Province in southern Vietnam’s Central Highlands, is centered around a lake and golf course, and surrounded by hills, pine forests, lakes and waterfalls. Known as the “City of Eternal Spring” for its distinctive temperate climate, Đà Lạt was developed as a resort by the French in the early 1900s, and many reminders of its colonial heritage remain.
Landmarks include the spire of Đà Lạt Cathedral, a replica of the Eiffel Tower that doubles as a communications tower, and alpine-style Crémaillère Railway Station, offering short train rides. Other attractions are the 1930s summer palace of former emperor Bảo Đại, the colorful Đà Lạt Flower Gardens and several Buddhist pagodas and monasteries. Less traditional is the Hằng Nga Crazy House, a Gaudí-inspired guesthouse and gallery created by Vietnamese architect Đặng Việt Nga. Hoa Ban trắng có tên khoa học là Bauhinia variegata có nguồn gốc ở miền đông nam châu Á. Từ miền nam Trung Quốc kéo dài về phía tây tới Ấn Độ. Ở Việt Nam hoa được người Thái trồng nhiều ở các tỉnh miền núi phía Bắc. Là biểu tượng văn hóa của vùng Tây Bắc.
Hoa Ban trắng Đà Lạt nở rộ vào cuối tháng 12, trong cái rét của mùa đông, khi hoa dã quỳ bắt đầu tàn. Những cành mai anh đào trơ lá khoe mình trong cái không khí se lạnh của phố núi. Thì trên những cung đường Đà Lạt lại ngập tràn trong màu trắng hoa ban. Dẫu Đà Lạt không phải là xứ sở của loại hoa vốn có nhiều ở vùng Tây Bắc. Nhưng những con đường hoa Ban trắng Đà Lạt giờ đây đã trở thành một nét độc đáo của thành phố sương mù.
Là một loài thực vật họ đậu (Fabacea), cây thân gỗ kích thước nhỏ đến trung bình có thể cao từ 10 – 12 m. Cây rụng lá và mùa khô, lá cây dài khoảng 10 – 20 cm. Rộng bản và tròn, lưỡng phì ở gốc và đỉnh phiến lá.
Những cung đường ngắm hoa Ban Đà Lạt đẹp nhất: Đường Trần Phú – Nhà thờ con Gà – Dinh 2, Đường Quang Trung – Ga Đà Lạt – Ngã Tư Phan Chu Trinh.

Dalat Clay Sculptures Tunnel (Dalat Star tourist site): It is known by many names such as: Clay Village, Clay Tunnel…which is a carved dry ditch about 1.2 km long beside Tuyen Lam Lake. Here, visitors seem to be stay in the fairy world with countless unique art sculptures; the statues of: monkeys, elephants, snakes, turtles, frogs, antique Vespa motorbike, horse cart, flowers waterfall; the famous architecture in Da Lat: The old railway station, Cathedral, Da Lat pedagogical colleges, pagoda …; and especially the clay house is full facilities. Walking Challenge: Tigon Dalat Hostel to LamDong (Clay Tunnel).
It’s my first time to go in Dalat, Vietnam ???????? And I like to explore the place. Then I found this amazing tourist spot named “Clay Tunnel”. I don’t know what to expect but I just want to walk going there.

Accordingly “Dalat Clay Sculptures Tunnel (Dalat Star tourist site): It is known by many names such as: Clay Village, Clay Tunnel…which is a carved dry ditch about 1.2 km long beside Tuyen Lam Lake. Here, visitors seem to be stay in the fairy world with countless unique art sculptures; the statues of: monkeys, elephants, snakes, turtles, frogs, antique Vespa motorbike, horse cart, flowers waterfall; the famous architecture in Da Lat: The old railway station, Cathedral, Da Lat pedagogical colleges, pagoda …; and especially the clay house is full facilities. All of them were made of red soil in Dalat which was mixed with stone powder and cement.“
