DA LAT, Vietnam travel Today: Waterfall, Villa and Lakeside Dining.
One of the best things to do in Da Lat is to have a nice comfortable meal inside of a French Villa when you're in the highlands. The French built a whole slew of villas to escape the hot lowland summers of Saigon. In fact, there used to be a train station and rails that connected the two. The food itself was pretty average, don't expect fine French dining there. We only went there because it was raining too much and had to stop somewhere because we were starving. To get here, just go to the French Quarter. It's one of the only few restaurants around that street. You can't miss it. Before dinner, Ngoc and I traveled to Elephant Falls which is about 30 kilometers away from the city center. The trek down was difficult at times and rather slippery from the rain. We saw very few tourists there. It was definitely more natural compared to Prenn or Datala Falls, which both are closer but way more touristy than Elephant Falls. The waterfall at the bottom was breath taking and powerful. Before that, we had breakfast at Blue Water Restaurant located right at Xuan Huong Lake. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as coffee or dessert here. The food itself was medicore- just a simple banh mi op la - eggs with pate and French bread, but that's a typical Vietnamese breakfast dish.

ALL VIETS MUST WATCH THIS: Vietnamese Refugee Camp on Palawan, the Philippines. a Kyle Le Doc.
a Kyle Le short Doc.
One of the reasons why I make videos about Vietnam is to bring not only the culture and travel experiences of today, but to raise awareness about the Vietnamese diaspora in the past. Many of you watching now were boat people who left Vietnam or know of someone who did. If this is your first time hearing about the plight of the Vietnamese refugees, then I strongly urge you to do your own research on their stories. You'll be enlightened and you'll appreciate your parents a lot more. There were many Vietnamese refugee camps all over Southeast Asia after the war. One of the largest is here in Palawan in the Philippines. Today, it's called Viet Ville, and it's mostly a Vietnamese restaurant (with a Vietnamese cook) and some Pinoy people live there now, but most of the homes are just in complete ruins. If you enjoyed this video, consider sharing it with your Vietnamese friends, especially Vietnamese Americans.

Farmer in vietnam, hard-working.
Vietnam is a country which situates in the South East Asia. Vietnam geography shapes S-letter and devided into three parts: Northern part, Middle part and Southern one. Ha Noi is the capital of Vietnam but it isn't the biggest city. Ho Chi Minh city is the largest city in Vietnam.
Vietnam has a long-lasting history with over four thousand years. There are 54 ethnic groups and the Kinh is the largest group. All the ethnic groups live peacfully under a common roof - Vietnam country.
Vietnam is a country with a special culure. From the Hung King Dynasty - the first Dynasty of Vietnam - our ancestors celebrated Tet Holiday every year. In the Tet, we cooked Banh Chung and Banh Tet, two special dishes made from sticky rice to offer our ancestors. Thousand years have passed and this nice cultural feature has been kept untill now.
Vietnamese people are intelligent, hard working and thirsty for moving up. Throughout history, we have had a large number of great man achieving the world fame. Tran Hung Dao and Vo Nguyen Giap are the two world military talents. Ho Chi Minh was world cutural great man...
Our country situates in the center of the world sea-route. Vietnam has more than three thousand kilometers of coast with abundant tourism and sea food potentialities.
In the war time, Vietname is a small country, but we never step back. Both the French and the USA army became our defeaters.
Nowadays, we are building our country to become richer, more becautiful as the strong wish from Mr. Ho Chi Minh.

Additional notes:
This video was from a recent Visa run to Vietnam, where I stayed in the capital city of Saigon for a few days. This was my first night of many and I was surprised at all the changes from my last Vietnam visit a few years back.
It's much busier now than I remember, and there are loads more hostess bars too. The beer is insanely cheap at some bars, and a lot of the regular Vietnamese girls were very easy on the eye.
My plan was very simple for this night, eat some Pho and then head to drink beer on Bui Vien street...
A word of warning about some of the regular bars on Bui Vien street. Trip advisor reviews are littered with incidents of bill padding, incorrect change being given and not honouring promo deals.
Be aware of this if you are drinking here and it's probably not a good idea to run up a big bar tab, but best to pay for each drink as they come to avoid potential problems.
There seemed to be more hostess bars this time especially down the 'Crazy Girls' end of Bui Vien street. Ladies are available to be barfined (if they like you) but it's much more low key than other nearby countries.
This video ends at midnight, and a following part will be released soon...
Thank you for watching, and subscribe for more videos.
NB: Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City are the same city, the name was changed after the 70s. The locals all call it Saigon so that's what I call it here.

#MAINETRIPPY: Saigon 2018 Vlog vol. 1
It’s a tradition for Chir and I to book a trip abroad and celebrate our birthdays in a city we’ve never explored. After celebrating his birthday twice in Bali, Indonesia. We thought of exploring more of Southeast Asia like true wanderers. And since we heard a lot of good things about Saigon and their unforgettable food and art scene, we decided to travel to Vietnam for my 24th birthday this year.
Saigon isn’t what we expected it to be. Their laidback culture is what drew us to this spectacular place. To tell you, we can wear our casual clothes everywhere we go and it’s something we can’t just do back home.
We are fortunate enough to be accompanied by our good friend Sam who is well versed with food. Chir and I always thought of him as the “Anthony Bourdain” of our group. After travelling to Ho Chi Minh for the third time, Sam treats Vietnam as his second home, which makes him the perfect travel buddy. As per our dining experience, there’s an unexplainable balance of flavours you can get from their ingredients especially their herbs and meat combined. Wherever you go, be it high end or low end restaurants, everything is made with absolute perfection. I could go on and on with our food trip in Vietnam but I’ll let my vlog do the talking.
Here’s 1/2 of my Saigon vlog.

SUMMARY
=======
Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from certain Coffea species. The genus Coffea is native to tropical Africa (specifically having its origin in Ethiopia and Sudan) and Madagascar, the Comoros, Mauritius, and Réunion in the Indian Ocean. Coffee plants are now cultivated in over 70 countries, primarily in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, Indian subcontinent, and Africa. The two most commonly grown are C. arabica and C. robusta. Once ripe, coffee berries are picked, processed, and dried. Dried coffee seeds (referred to as beans) are roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor. Roasted beans are ground and then brewed with near-boiling water to produce the beverage known as coffee.
Coffee is darkly colored, bitter, slightly acidic and has a stimulating effect in humans, primarily due to its caffeine content. It is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and it can be prepared and presented in a variety of ways (e.g., espresso, French press, café latte). It is usually served hot, although iced coffee is a popular alternative. Clinical studies indicate that moderate coffee consumption is benign or mildly beneficial in healthy adults, with continuing research on whether long-term consumption lowers the risk of some diseases, although those long-term studies are of generally poor quality. The earliest credible evidence of coffee-drinking appears in Yemen in southern Arabia in the middle of the 15th century in Sufi shrines. It was here in Arabia that coffee seeds were first roasted and brewed in a similar way to how it is now prepared. But the coffee seeds had to be first exported from East Africa to Yemen, as the Coffea arabica plant is thought to have been indigenous to the former. Yemeni traders took coffee back to their homeland and began to cultivate the seed. By the 16th century, the drink had reached Persia, Turkey, and North Africa. From there, it spread to Europe and the rest of the world.
As of 2016, Brazil was the leading grower of coffee beans, producing one-third of the world total. Coffee is a major export commodity, being the top legal agricultural export for numerous countries. It is one of the most valuable commodities exported by developing countries. Green, unroasted coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world. Some controversy has been associated with coffee cultivation and the way developed countries trade with developing nations, as well as the impact on the environment with regards to the clearing of land for coffee-growing and water use. Consequently, the markets for fair trade and organic coffee are expanding.
