Part 2--Sheila's Visit to Dacre & Dalemain 2006.wmv
Here we have an early kind of audio podcast with photos created by Sheila in 2006 following a Family tree Research Trip to Cumbria in search of the Hasell Ancestors .Around the year 1640 some of the Hasells of Cambridgeshire had moved north and this branch have remained rooted in Cumbria for over 300 years---based near Penrith at Dalemain and Carlise---I have also created a parallel family tree joining a shared ancestor back in time Richard Hasell of Bottisham and Balsham in Cambridgeshire around 1545- 1620--son of John Hasell---
Sheila's Visit to Brougham Castle, Penrith, Cumbria
A Family Tree video with connections to the Hasell family of Dalemain and others further back in time of Norman descent--The Stutevilles.Sir Edward Hasell was the Steward of Lady Clifford and via her he was able to purchase Dalemain--a fortified manor house not far from Penrith and still owned by the descendents of the Hasells today.Sheila shares common ancestors with the Cumbrian Hasells and Cambridgeshire Hasells of Bottisham , Balsham and other places since 1520s.
Dacre to Dalemain, 'A Walk Along a Hasell lane in Cumbria', by Sheila, 2014
Walking down a quiet Cumbrian track with my imagination racing---images of horeses and carriages, ladies in fine dresses, the gamekeeper with his dogs, the farm workers toiling in the fields, and the Hasells attending St Andrew's church for Christenings, weddings, burials and funerals. Further back in time Knights in shiny armour arriving at Dacre castle---just love this place---remembering John Hasell, adventurer and outward bound creator--
