Fijian Attorney-General officiates at the 14th Annual Kula Film Awards
Fijian Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum officiated as chief guest at the 14th Annual Kula Film Awards.
Expressive art provides avenues for self-expression to talk about issues that society and individuals are concerned about the most.
The Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, in saying this, officiated at the Kula Film Awards which took place at Damodar Cinemas today in Suva.
The A-G also assured the budding artists at the event of government’s support for the industry.
“We’re trying to work with the Ministry of Education to develop a better curriculum, in that respect, more arts teachers that can help nurture the talents of many students,he said.

Movie goers now have the option of choosing to have a bottle of FIJI WATER with their combos. This comes after Damodar Events Cinemas, together with FIJI Water signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at offering customers a healthier choice.
Fijian Prime Minister Hon. Bainimarama officiates at the Darmodar City groundbreaking, Labasa.
The construction of the new $40 million Damodar City site in Labasa will soon begin after the Hon. Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officiated at the groundbreaking this evening.
While delivering his keynote address to more than 400 people gathered at the site, he said investor confidence was booming like never before.
“The private sector sees the strength and stability of the nation’s economy, and is making it clear that Fiji is an opportune place for their long-term business prospects, Hon. Bainimarama said.
“Damodar City Labasa plans to have even more features than its counterpart in Suva, covering over double the amount of land–– around 8 acres in total, compared to Suva’s 3.5-acre grounds–– and encompassing a 4-star hotel, high-tech cinemas with a premier event lounge, a department store, and one of the largest supermarkets in all of Fiji.”
This is also expected to generate more job opportunities for people in the North.
