Even at its estuary, the Yalu River remains clearly visible as its green color is set off by the turbid Yellow Sea. With a history of nearly 100 years, Dadonggang is the northernmost port along China's coastline. It is also one of the places on the Liaodong Peninsula that are open to foreign investment. The Yalu River Wetlands Nature Reserve is an important stopover for migrant birds in Northeast Asia. The vast reed wetlands are both quiet and attractive.
