7 Night BVI Charter Itinerary - Part 1
I wanted to put together a series videos on a recent 7 night charter we did through the US and British Virgin Islands onboard a luxury charter catamaran.
This was the first time that I used a charter broker, and was blown away by the level of concierge service received. It made the entire booking process and planning process absolutely painless. The best part of using a charter broker is that the boat paid her fees, so there was no cost to us!!!
We used Laura Jagielski with Denison Yacht Charters.
Call her at 340 473 0073 or shoot an email to Laura@denisonyachtsales.com
Day 1:
A) Meet the yacht in French Town, St. Thomas.
B) Motor from French Town to West End to clear customs
C) Motor around to Cane Garden Bay for the afternoon/evening. We hung out at Meet's.
Day 2:
A) Amazing beam reach sail from Cane Garden Bay to Sandy Spit. We hung out at Sandy Spit for a few hours.
B) Sailed from Sandy Spit around to White Bay. We hung out at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar, One Love, and Ivan's.
C) Sailed around to Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke. Had an amazing dinner on the boat, and then went ashore for drinks and dancing at Foxy's.
Day 3:
A) Sailed from Jost Van Dyke to The Indians. We hung out on the boat, did a LOT of snorkeling, and a couple of dives.
B) Sailed over to Norman Island, and picked up a mooring ball in The Bite. Went ashore to Pirate's Bite Bar, dinner on the boat, and then partying at the infamous Willy T's.

Ep 40. Island hopping the BVI, devastation of hurricane Irma (sailing Susan Ann II )
Episode 40
Well, as promised here's this weeks episode for you guys. We hope you like it.
We finished up last weeks ep as we arrived in the British Virgin Islands. What a place! Unfortunately, the BVI took the brunt of Hurricane Irma and many of the islands saw winds of up to 217mph. The devastation is heart breaking. The BVI was home to many of the world's charter catamarans and it seems to us that cats get hit harder by big winds, they get lifted up and flipped over whereas mono hulls get rolled over and washed ashore. We counted over 30 yachts washed ashore just in Trellis Bay on Tortola alone! There were 60' catamarans upside down up a hill in Road Harbour where most of the cats are berthed.
We tried to island hop and see as much as we could but there isn't anywhere that wasn't hit hard by the hurricane. Starting east at Virgin Gorda, to have a quick Bath then heading west and downwind. Hayley's maiden name was Cooper so of course we had to go visit there and it turned out to be a great place to hide from the wind for a few days. Our friends who crossed the Atlantic with us were headed for The Bight on Norman Island which is normally home to the famous Willy T's floating bar but of course this didn't survive Irma either so we made our own fun! We helped our friends with their boat issues for a change and I took the kids for their first scuba dive using AquaFrolics shiny new hookah diving system. No diving for pregnant Hayley unfortunately!
Thanks for following our adventure, we make these vids for you guys so please don’t forget to leave us a comment and a thumbs up.

Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, Road Town, Tortola British Virgin Islands 2018 | #bvitreasures
On November 15, 2018, there were two cruise ships on the cruise ship dock at Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. I got the opportunity to get some footage after speaking to my niece-in-law who works at the BVI Tourist Board. I was really hoping to get very close to the ships but only passengers are allowed in that area. Enjoy!!!

Welcome to Cane Garden Bay, in the British Virgin Islands! (BVI) CARIBBEAN
Today finds us in Cane Garden Bay in the Northwest side of Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean! Cane Garden Bay has always been a favorite, and home to many things.. first of all it has one of the longest and most beautiful beaches in the BVI, and it's also one of the favored spots with the surfing community when the north swell builds... when that happens it is not a time we want to be here in the anchorage, but right now is a nice time, it's calm water and we thought we'd come in and take a little flight around with our MARINER Waterproof Drone and have a look!
Cane Garden Bay is also home to some of our favorite establishments we've been coming to for years and bringing charter guests to year after year and they always love it! You have Myett's Beach Bar and Grill with live music almost every night down on the end of the beach.. you've got Quito's Restaurant and Happy Hour Bar where you can hear Quito and the Edge perform live several times per week.. you've got Rhymers and many many more!
So when you're in the area, don't forget to stop by and see Cane Garden Bay, it's definitely worth a visit!

British Virgin Islands - The Baths of Virgin Gorda March 2019
On day 4 of our trip we set sail from Jost Van Dyke and travel about 15 miles to the Baths of Virgin Gorda. The Baths are a must see on our trip to the BVI. This BVI National Park is like no place on earth. I call it a big play ground for adults. The Baths are a series of huge boulders stacked on top of each other forming a hiking trails through tidal pools, grottos, passages and underwater tunnels.
Be sure to get there early to pick up one of the free day mooring balls and beat the crowd. You can either snorkel in or take your dingy in part way and tie up on the lines off shore and swim from there.
If you land at Spring Bay on the east, the trail takes you up to the top of the Baths. Here you will be charged a few buck by the park service to continue. If you have a cruising park permit make sure to bring it with you or take a picture of it. We then made our way down the west side to Devils Bay and started our hike through the Baths.
We spent a few hours exploring and then headed onto Leverick Bay in the North Sound for the night. We arrived and filled up with water. Since the Bitter End Yacht Club and Saba Rock got wiped out by hurricane Irma, Leverick Bay is the only place to get water and fuel on the east end of the BVIs.
We were lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday night so we caught the Micheal Beans pirate show at the resort.
What an awesome day sailing, hiking, more sailing and a Pirate show! Does it get any better? Ooh, ooh pinch me!
Sail On!

Jost Van Dyke - British Virgin Islands
Thank you for viewing this video about my sailing cruise travels aboard the Guiding Light. In this video, we will start exploring Jost Van Dyke as we continue traveling through the British Virgin Islands.
As we begin our sailing cruise, we first visit the Bubbly Pool on the east end of the island. Then, as we head west, we stop at Sandy Key. The first harbor we arrive at later is Little Harbor, a quiet cove with a few restaurants. Then, we go to the gorgeous White Bay, home of the Soggy Dollar Bar. Our final stop is Great Harbor, home to the local settlement and Foxy's Bar.

Sailing in the beautiful British Virgin Islands
The ONLY WAY to experience the Caribbean is by water. We recently enjoyed a week-long sailing trip through the British Virgin Islands, aboard a 52-foot catamaran captained by Active Cruising. Exercise and healthy smoothies were provided by the ladies of The Kale Whale.
We weren't sure what to expect during the trip, as this was our first sailing adventure, but it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our backyard was different every day as we sailed from bay to bay, island to island. We woke up to tarpon feeding below the boat, rainbows after a winter sprinkle, epic sunrises, and beautiful clear blue water surrounding us everywhere we traveled.
The daily exercises and healthy smoothies kept us energized through the day as we explored, and we were sure to indulge in local delicacies and plenty of rum after the activities :)
We experienced Tortola, The Indians, Norman Bay, Trellis Bay, Anegada, Virgin Gorda and more.
If you're the adventurous type who likes to go with the flow and let the wind guide you, you will surely enjoy this type of travel.

British Virgin Islands Drone Flight: The British Virgin Islands, part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean, is a British overseas territory. Comprising 4 main islands and many smaller ones, its known for its reef-lined beaches and as a yachting destination. The largest island, Tortola, is home to the capital, Road Town, and rainforest-filled Sage Mountain National Park. On Virgin Gorda island is the Baths, a labyrinth of beachside boulders. The British Virgin Islands shelter dive sites like the 19th-century RMS Rhone off of Salt Island, one of the few Caribbean shipwrecks visible to snorkellers. Quiet Jost Van Dyke island, a common charter-boat stop, has a few waterside bars serving the locally famous Painkiller cocktail. It also has 2 notable beaches: tranquil White Bay and Great Harbour, which hosts a lively New Years Eve celebration. The coral-limestone atoll of Anegada, famous for its lobster, is a remote island thats home to a sanctuary for birds like flamingos. [wikipedia // Google]
