Also known as Malsi Deer Park, the Dehradun Zoo is one of the most famous tourist places of Dehradun and one of the best places to visit on the way to Mussoorie.
it is 9 Kilo meter from the clock tower and 16 kilo meter from ISBT Dehradun. Idyllically situated in the serene surroundings of the city.
You can see deer, beautiful birds and tiger but the most beautiful area of the zoo is the aquatic world which now houses several rare fish species.
Some of the fish species that can be seen in Dehradun Zoo fish aquarium are Silver Shark fish, Oscar fish, Goldfish, Dollar fish, Zebra Danio fish, Jaguar fish, Texas Cichlid, Buffer Fish, Green Terror fish and Aligator fish.
While paying a visit to Dehradun Zoo, one must visit the Aquarium which is no less than a treat for the eyes.

Dehradun district is a district in the state of Uttarakhand in India. The district headquarters is located at Dehradun City. Dehradun is also the capital of Uttarakhand. Dehradun is located in the Himalayan mountain ranges and the Siwalik hills. Dehradun is one of the oldest cities in India. The district is named after the city of Dehradun. Dehradun is made up of two words, Dehra and Doon. Dehra means Dera means a temporary abode and Doon means a valley. In Dehradun district, where there are one more tourist places like Mussoorie, Dehradun, Rishikesh, there are many other international institutes like Survey of India, ONGC, Indian Military Academy. It is known as the city of Guru Dronacharya.
The district consists of 7 tehsils, 748 villages, 403 gram panchayats and 22 towns. Dehradun is the tehsils of Sadar, Doiwala, Rishikesh, Vikasnagar, Chakrata, Kalsi and Tuni districts.

Rajaji National Park between Haridwar & Dehradun: Uttarakhand| Jungle Safari 36 kms
Rajaji National park at Uttarakhand - North India has 3 entry points, I have done Jungle safari from the Chilla range. It is considered to be among the best for wild animal visibility.
You may want to support this channel:
Jungle safari at Rajaji National park covers a distance of 36 kms in 3 hours. Rajaji National park is converted into Rajaji Tiger reserve in the year 2015.
Few important things to know before you travel to Rajaji National park at Haridwar:
Distance from Dehradun Airport: 35 kms.
Nearest Railhead: Haridwar
Entry timings: Morning 6 to 9 am & Afternoon 3 to 4.30 pm.
Period closed in year: 15th June to 15th November.
Jungle safari cost: Rs 1950 for one person- for every additional
person in jeep, entry charge Rs 150.
Elephant ride: Available at cost of Rs 1500, distance 1 km, outside the chilla range.
Wild life at this place is spread over 820 sq. kms
Other Tourist attractions near RajaJi National park, Haridwar:
Haridwar: People travel for pilgrimage.
Rishikesh: Adventure sports, Yoga and temples.
Mussoorie: 80 kms from Rajaji National park.
Tips to consider before you plan a trip here;
Prefer afternoon Jungle safari than morning one, chances of wild animal visibility is greater.
Carry enough water during Jungle safari to drink, you may not get that in between.
Have food otherwise you will not get anything inside the Forest.
Best time to travel to Rajaji national park at Haridwar is between 15th November and March, rest of the time it is hot, you may not enjoy.
I was told by a my Gypsy driver that there are 16 Tigers at this place and some 250 Elephants and many more uncounted other wild animals.
