Au départ de Bcharré une randonnée inoubliable (Extrait du film Pendant la Paix).

La Grande Rencontre

Le 26 Août 2018 a eu lieu à Ouyoun Ourghouch dans la Bekaa, la Grande Rencontre de la famille Fakhry.

Venant de Bcharré, Deir El Ahmar, Niha, Btidée et pour la première fois, de Zrarieh au Sud-Liban, les familles Fakhry se sont retrouvés autour d'un grand repas précédé d'une messe dite par Monseigneur Youssef Fakhry .

Venu du village de Fakhro au confins de l'Irak aux frontières de la Turquie, les Fakhry de confession chaldéeenne seraient arrivés il y a quelques siècles dans le Nord Liban s'installant autour de Bcharré et se convertissant au Maronitisme.

Bien plus tard au 19 ieme siècle, Fadel Fakhry devenue Fadel Hassan Fakhry, fuyant les persécutions ottomanes, se réfugia au Sud Liban dans le village de Zrarié où il se convertit à l'islam chiite, mariant aussi ses deux soeurs venues avec lui. Les Fakhry de Zrarieh devinrent vite prospères et nombre d'entre eux émigrèrent de nouveau vers l'Amérique et l'Afrique .
Quand au Fakhry du Nord, ils representent la premiere et plus importante famille d'émigrés d'Australie ( depuis le 19ieme siècle ) et de Nouvelle Zélande . On les retrouve aussi nombreux au Canada
Pour commémorer ces retrouvailles, entre toutes les composantes de la grande famille Fakhry, il a été décider que chaque dernier dimanche du mois d'Aout, l'ensemble des fils et filles se retrouveront pour fêter leurs retrouvailles.
