The Logan Inn (New Hope, PA) investigation - Part 1 Aug 28, 2012
This is part 1 of my joint investigation of the Logan Inn in New Hope, PA on August 28, 2012. This part focuses on my solo investigation of Room 14, in which a few years ago a married couple reported being harassed during the night by paranormal activity. Trigger objects and the ghost box are featured here plus some a couple of strange things that were caught on my static night-vision camcorder.
The Logan Inn is on the oldest running Inn's in the United States, established in 1727. There have been reports of several spirits in the Inn, the most famous is Emily Lutz, whose family owned the Inn. She died in Room 6, the most haunted part of the Inn. She is said to still wander the halls and if you could smell lavender in the air, her presence was nearby. Also, the spirit of a Revolutionary War soldier or 2 has been seen wandering around the Inn on the 1st floor and basement, the spirit of a little girl who drowned in the canal behind the inn has been seen in the parking lot and inside the inn. Also known to be a bit of a prankster. A couple of other spirits were picked up on as well including another man who was not happy and a couple of other child spirits.
Thanks again to Robert and Sandra from Bearfort Paranormal for inviting me to join them, along with thanks to Jennifer Lopez from the Examiner.com and her friend Amy for organizing the investigation. Special thanks to Steve Lewis, medium from Australia who joined us via Facetime and provided us with some great insight and focus during the investigation.
DOKU@Raritan and Delaware Canal©®
The Delaware and Raritan Canal (D&R Canal) is a canal in central New Jersey, United States, built in the 1830s that served to connect the Delaware River to the Raritan River. It was intended as an efficient and reliable means of transportation of freight between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York City, especially coal from the anthracite coal fields in eastern Pennsylvania. Before the advent of the railroads, the canal allowed shippers to cut many miles off the route from the Pennsylvania coal fields, down the Delaware, around Cape May, and up along the (occasionally treacherous) Atlantic Ocean coast to New York City.

SUMMARY
=======
This article is about the company that operated from 1822-1967. For the corporation launched in 1988, see Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company.
The Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company was a mining and transportation company that operated in Pennsylvania from 1818 (1820 & 1822) to 1964. It ultimately encompassed source industries, transport, and manufacturing, making it the first vertically integrated company in the United States.Building on two predecessor companies incorporated in 1818, founders Erskine Hazard and Josiah White entered the coal industry to serve customers seeking a steady supply of fuel for foundries and mills on the falls of the Schuylkill River. Their LC&N spearheaded the Industrial Revolution in the United States, accelerating regional industrial development by taking on civil engineering challenges thought impossible and creating important transport and mining infrastructure. Most importantly, the LC&N established the Lower Lehigh Canal (begun 1818, usable 1820, improved 1821-24, and made two-way in 1827-29) and taught America to burn anthracite. By the early 1830s, the Lehigh Canal and its bridging river trip along the Delaware River inspired and connected four other canals.

Crybaby Bridge - 4K Drone Flythrough (New Hope, Pennsylvania)
As the legend goes, many years ago a young woman got pregnant out of wedlock. Her family wanted nothing to do with her and her child. So upset was she by this that after giving birth, she crept out in the middle of the night with her baby in her arms and headed to the nearby bridge. Once there, she flung her baby into the water and then hung herself from the bridge’s rafters.
This particular legend refers to the Van Sant Bridge in southeastern Pennsylvania, but different iterations of it are associated with several different so-called “Crybaby Bridges” across the United States. Whatever the particular details might be, the core elements of the myth remain the same: a child (or multiple children) met an untimely death at the bridge sometime in the past; the bridge is therefore now haunted, and the haunting manifests in the form of ghostly cries of the departed children that can still be heard to this day.
In the case of the Van Sant Bridge, the story goes that if you park your car in the middle of the bridge you can hear not only the wail of the poor forlorn babe, but also the toes of the hanging woman scraping your car roof. One intrepid ghost hunter, however, surmises that the crying sound actually comes from red foxes that apparently inhabit the area.
The bridge was built in 1875 and spans Pidcock Creek. It is also known as Beaver Dam Bridge. Apart from the unwed mother of the crybaby legend, the Van Sant Bridge is also reputed to have been a hanging place for horse thieves.

Father, 4 daughters from Teaneck, NJ killed in Delaware crash
A New Jersey man and his four daughters were killed in a crash on Friday afternoon in Townsend, Delaware, but the man's wife survived.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Route 1 near Pine Tree Road.
Police say a southbound Ford F-350 pickup truck crossed the median and struck a northbound car, causing it to spin out of control.
The car came to rest on the median, while the pickup truck continued to travel southbound in the northbound lanes and was hit by the Toyota Sienna minivan carrying the New Jersey family.

Lot-Land - ERWINNA, PA
This extraordinary lot was originally part of a vast land holding belonging to the Marshall family of Tinicum Township. The property is now comprised of two parcels along River Road of approximately four and a half acres with frontage on the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River. From the elevated position of the site, the house and barn afford commanding views across the Delaware River to New Jersey. The current owner has had the site surveyed, and a new septic design has been approved for a 5 bedroom dwelling. The existing house is in need of restorations, but the imaginative buyer will see that it can potentially be restored to its' former glory. The structures include the farmhouse, barn, corn crib, and the stone ruins of a former bank barn. Restore or rebuild - and enjoy your year round or weekend residence on this special piece of land that holds centuries of Bucks County History.

SUMMARY
=======
Delaware ( (listen)) is one of the 50 states of the United States, in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeastern region. It is bordered to the south and west by Maryland, to the north by Pennsylvania, and to the east by New Jersey and the Atlantic Ocean. The state takes its name from Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr, an English nobleman and Virginia's first colonial governor.Delaware occupies the northeastern portion of the Delmarva Peninsula. It is the second smallest and sixth least populous state, but the sixth most densely populated. Delaware's largest city is Wilmington. The state is divided into three counties, the lowest number of any state. From north to south, they are New Castle County, Kent County, and Sussex County. While the southern two counties have historically been predominantly agricultural, New Castle County is more industrialized.
Before its coastline was explored by Europeans in the 16th century, Delaware was inhabited by several groups of Native Americans, including the Lenape in the north and Nanticoke in the south. It was initially colonized by Dutch traders at Zwaanendael, near the present town of Lewes, in 1631. Delaware was one of the 13 colonies participating in the American Revolution. On December 7, 1787, Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, and has since been known as The First State.
