Delta Force Paintball in Reading (GoPro Hero 3+)
GoPro: Delta Force Paintball - London Bus - UK - Guildford - Deepwood
We don't start playing till 9 mins in!
Best Game I Played:
Mission: Assassinate the President
Map: London Bus
Venue: Delta Force - Guildford
The aim of this game was for the purple team (my colour) to defend the bus from the president and prevent him from entering the bus.
Game Rules (at time of recording):
- The president is represented by a florescent bib.
- Only the defending team can occupy the top deck of the bus.
- Only the president can occupy the bottom deck upon which the game ends and the attacking team wins.
- The attacking team get infinite lives every member except the president can re-spawn by returning to their start location and tapping a barrel.
- The president only has one life, when he is dead it is game over and the defending team wins.
- All members of the defending team have only one life, no respawns.
- The time runs out after 10 mins I think if the president has not reached the bus by then the game is won by the defending team but they do not get the extra point for killing the president.
- map is played twice, teams swap sides for second game.
Venue Rules (at time of recording):
- Headshots don't count (sorry epic headshot paintball kid)
- so funny
- no shooting within 3 meters of opponent
The footage was taken on a GoPro HDhero on a helmet mount on the top part of a full face paintball mask. The straps go through the ventilation holes...barely.
Reason for paintballing: Jaques Birthday party Sunday 14th October 2012. Like I needed a reason!

Best Game I Played:
Mission: Capture the Flag
Map: Siege of Stalingrad
Location: Delta Force - Guildford - Deepwood
Aim of the Game: Capture flag, hang flag in opposing teams base.
Game Rules (at time of recording):
- Capture the flag.
- place flag in enemy base wins the game.
- no respawns
- 10-15 min time limit I think which ends in a draw
- teams start on opposite ends of the pitch, in the middle is the flag and a wall with towers.
- map is played twice, teams swap sides for second game.
- points added for possession of the flag.
- players on tower defenses cannot shoot opponents directly below them to avoid violating the 3 meter rule.
Venue Rules (at time of recording):
- Headshots don't count (sorry epic headshot paintball kid)
- so funny
- no shooting within 3 meters of opponent
Tips:
- Retrieve the flag ASAP.
- protect it.
- find weak point in defenses.
- crossing the wall is the hardest part but also the most crucial.
Strategies (im not expert but here are my thoughts):
- get a large group charge onto the other side acting almost as canon fodder. Get the flag bearer to run behind the group and eventually run to the enemy base.
- Find a weak point or make an opening to allow a single well selected member of the team (with backups ready if he fails, if he fails find an alternative route or make sure the same doesn't happen again) get on the other side to take out the team by flanking them.
The footage was taken on a GoPro HDhero on a helmet mount on the front part of a full face paintball mask. The straps go through the mouth guard ventilation holes...barely. I used a helmet mount to attach the GoPro.

This is a typical Walk on event where people bring their own gear and equipment. Players can also bring their own paintballs. Players use guns that operate in machine gun style roughly shooting between 10 - 15 balls per second (bps) and around 300 feet per second (fps).
