Denbies Wine Estate. United Kingdom. Drone 4k.
The Denbies Estate, based in Dorking, Surrey, has been family owned and run since 1984. Denbies vineyard was planted in 1986, and since then has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK. Denbies core business is agriculture and we are pleased to be able to offer visitors an insight into wine production in the UK. Denbies wine now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first ever gold for an English rose wine and most recently an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine. We are honoured over the years to have welcomed several members of the Royal family to the estate, completing the historical connections which date back to Prince Albert in 1851. The Surrey Hills is a beautiful area to live in and while you are visiting do take advantage of the surrounding areas, including 7 miles of public footpath which trail throughout the vineyard.

English Wine Special - Part 2: Denbies Wine Estate
Howey! In honour of the upcoming English Wine Week, I thought it would be nice to get outside for a change and learn something about what kind of wine our nation is producing.
In Part 2 of my English Wine Special, I meet the general manager of the largest wine estate in the UK, Chris White from Denbies.
Although my interviewing style definitely needs some work, Chris taught me a lot about the reasons why England is so great at producing high quality sparkling wine. Hopefully you can learn something too.

A visit to Denbies English Sparkling Wine
A visit to Denbies English Sparkling Wine by Christopher Walkey of Glass of Bubbly.
I was pleased to be taken on a tour of the winery by Christopher White, general manager of Denbies, where we viewed by car some of the 100 plus hectares of vines where they are growing 15 different grape varieties. I never expected Denbies to be such a big operation I must admit, my only ever previous direct encounters with them was always at wine tasting events where I assumed they were just one of the smaller growers. Denbies is more or a less an entire village sat in the middle of plush green fields full of vines and forests where you can not only visit to tour the vineyards via the 7 miles of footpaths over its near 250 hectare estate and then taste the wines, you can also eat, exhibit, have a wedding, stay over night and more.
