Places to see in ( Denbigh - UK )
Denbigh is a market town and community in Denbighshire, Wales, of which it was formerly the county town. Denbigh lies 8 miles to the north west of Ruthin and to the south of St Asaph. The town grew around the glove-making industry.
The first borough charter was granted to Denbigh in 1290, when the town was still contained within the old town walls. It was the centre of the Marcher Lordship of Denbigh. The town was involved in the revolt of Madog ap Llywelyn in 1294-95; the castle was captured in the autumn, and on 11 November 1294 a relieving force was defeated by the Welsh rebels. The town was recaptured by Edward I in December. Denbigh was also burnt in 1400 during the revolt of Owain Glyndŵr.
Notable buildings in Denbigh include Denbigh Castle, the town walls begun in 1282 including the Burgess Gate and Leicester's Church. This is an unfinished church begun in 1579 by Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester, who was also Baron of Denbigh. It was planned as a cathedral with the title of city to be transferred from neighbouring St. Asaph. The project ran out of money and the grounds now lie derelict.
Denbigh was once served by a railway station on the former London and North Western Railway, later part of the LMS. The Vale of Clwyd line leading north to St. Asaph and Rhyl closed in 1955, leaving Denbigh on a lengthy branch running from Chester via Mold and Denbigh to Ruthin, which closed in 1962. A southern continuation beyond Ruthin linking up with the Great Western Railway at Corwen had closed in 1952. The platform of Denbigh station can still be seen beside the road leading to the Home Bargains store.
Attractions in the town include a library and museum. Denbigh Boxing Club is located on Middle Lane. Denbigh Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Wales having been established in 1844. The club plays at the Ystrad Road ground and plays in the North Wales Cricket League.

Exploring Crazy Abandoned Mental Asylum
We had just climbed mount Snowdon the day before on a very cold and windy winter day and This was day three of the trip to Wales. It was by far one of the craziest places i've ever been to. The footage doesnt do the place justice and we certainly missed a fair bit of the place as we were a bit sketchy, also one of us didn't come in so was staying by the car, which was a shame.
The North Wales Hospital, locally known as Denbigh Mental Asylum is a Grade II listed building. Designed by architect Thomas Fulljames, building started in 1844 and completed in 1848. Once a hospital for up to 200 people with psychiatric illness, by the early 1900s it housed 1537 patients (approx). It is located in Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales.

ABANDONED LIBRARY LIVERPOOL (Oh and Im back)
I am back thank you again to everyone for all your kind messages and support it really helped me in deciding that I will carry on filming, I really do have the best subscribers/friends. I look a bit rough in the intro but last Saturday was a wet and windy day and I had just impaled my jeans on a spike off the gate and walked through what seemed like a jungle haha , I chat a load of rubbish throughout the video I dunno why I rambled on so much and the sound isn't he best but I was alone and didn't wanna be shouting, hope yous enjoy heres some history
Grade II listed, the Andrew Carnegie Library was designed by Thomas Shelmerdine, and built in 1904 as a direct result of a donation from the wealthy industrialist and Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.
The aim was built to provide opportunity for a disadvantaged local population – Carnegie himself offering the money to Liverpool to further their aspirations to improve the education of its inhabitants.
The standalone building in its own grounds was one of the largest public libraries in the suburbs with a grand reception area, extensive oak paneling over two floors and hundreds of thousands of books. For more than 50 years it was one of a number of landmarks on Lister Drive - others included a huge power station and the Victorian swimming baths which later became a fishery stockists.
The oak paneling and parquet flooring is largely intact after a decade of neglect The oak paneling and parquet flooring is largely intact after a decade of abandonment
But after a 100 year life as a functioning library and having been underfunded for a significant period, it was closed following health and safety concerns. Unoccupied, the building has been subject to theft, vandalism and neglect and is listed on Liverpool’s Buildings at Risk register.
Tuebrook 2016 is considered to be in the one percent of most deprived wards in the UK and while the power station may be gone the project aims to be the spark that ignites the regeneration of the wider area.
Lister Steps, which provides childcare facilities in a neighboring temporary building, says it will continue Carnegie's legacy of philanthropy and education, offering opportunity to a new local population in Tuebrook and Old Swan.
By providing opportunities for people to socialise, learn and participate Lister Steps will support the well-being and development of individuals, groups and local enterprise.
Happy viewing :)

Denbigh Public School, Denbigh Ontario, Canada
Video of exterior/interior Denbigh Public School, Denbigh, Ontario. It opened in 1960 and closed in 2006. Much of it was refurbished before it re-opened as the Addington Highlands Community Center in 2011. The community center is now the new home of the Addington Highlands Public Library, Denbigh Food Bank, The Blue Bench Cafe and the Lakelands Family Health Team. The gymnasium still serves as a gym and is occasionally used for public and private functions. The old school has been brought back to life and is now a much used, valuable feature for Denbigh and area residents.

ABANDONED MANSION WITH POWER (Woolton Hall)
Before anyone else says about the audio I know I'm talking quiet so apologies will try to speak louder next time. So I took a trip to Liverpool not far from where I live and thought id give this stunning mansion a visit, I love this place it has so much history and character, it still has electricity and all the original paintings and some furnishings, there was also a Masons lodge upstairs and masonic symbols on the ceilings. I was also proud of myself going down the basement haha, here is a brief description on the place. This WAS a permission visit.
The original part of the house was built in 1704 for the Molyneux family, on an estate of 400 acres that Richard Molyneux purchased in 1700. The site had had a house on since the Twelfth century, at one time serving as the local headquarters of the Knights of St. John. After the death of Richard Molyneux in 1738 and his widow in 1766, Woolton Hall was acquired by Nicholas Ashton, High Sheriff of Lancashire, whose father was one of the original undertakers and the principal financier of the Sankey Canal, the first canal of the British industrial revolution. In 1772, Robert Adam was employed to design a new frontage and redesign the interior. It remained in the Ashton family until the late Nineteenth century. The hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

ABANDONED SYNAGOGUE (Liverpool)
Nice find on a Sunday morning in Liverpool, braved it alone once again, was a straight forward explore, sorry for the distressed look on my face on the intro I just cut my back :( just in case you was wondering paul haha I didn't talk to much in the video as I was anxious that there may be people in here and it echoed a lot. Hope you`s enjoy, this is one of my best finds.
The now abandoned building was constructed in 1936 and was used by an active congregation until 2007 when the synagogue finally closed its doors. Greenbank originally gained its listed status in 1983 however this was upgraded to Grade II* status shortly after its closure in 2008 and has been on the ‘at risk’ register since 2010. It is hoped the repairs will secure its long-term future and help find a new use for it however until then the building sits empty in a derelict state.
Designed by architect Alfred Ernest Shennan and consecrated on August 15,1937, this synagogue became a refuge for homeless families in the Blitz.
The art deco design directly reflects Swedish architectural influences, both in the exterior of the building, which is clearly inspired by the late fruition of the Swedish national romantic style, and in its interior, which draws on contemporary Swedish functionalism. In consequence, Greenbank stands alone as a synagogue which is really significant in terms of the progressive architecture of its time. Although clearly not ‘international modern’, it was a genuine attempt at a new architecture appropriate for a modern synagogue, and succeeds in these terms.
Greenbank Drive Synagogue is architecturally by far the most important and innovatory 20th-century synagogue in England and is the finest surviving synagogue in Europe dating from the inter-war period. It also has important socio-historic significance as representing a last late optimistic cultural expression of European Jewry before the holocaust.
