This 13-minute video chronicles the revival of the Naugatuck River in western Connecticut and the greenway now being developed from Torrington to Derby. Lisa Simmons of Fingerpost Productions worked with John Monroe of the Rivers & Trails Program (National Park Service) to interview key advocates for the river and to document an event on September 23, 2012 called Explore the Naugatuck!

Senator Dodd and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro hosted a Town Hall Meeting at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and several other noted dignitaries were present, and briefly addressed the charged crowd of 250.
Joe the Voter had accepted Senator Dodds invitation to attend town hall meetings in New London and Derby. Joe finally got to say his piece in Derby on May 16, 2009.
Joes message was a plea to Senator Dodd. A plea to read the bill!
Too often in recent months Congress was in a rush to vote on something they did not read first. Joe chastised Dodd and DeLauro before expressing what we all have been feeling for a long time.
Thank you Joe. We look forward to hearing more of your wisdom and common sense in the future.

Fire School Set For Demolition
The City of Derby will soon be demolishing the old fire training school on O'Sullivan's Island next to the Derby Greenway. Once demolished, city officials plan an environmental cleanup of the site with long range plans of restoring the grounds as a public park.
Greenway Tour - Labor Day 2005
This is a brief tour of the partially completed Derby Greenway on Labor Day, 2005. The completed Greenway was officially opened to the public in June, 2006.

The largest tributary of the Housatonic River. It enters the Housatonic River at O'Sullivan's Island in Derby, Connecticut, USA. From there it as a short run to Long Island Sound. Bird of Prey rescue's, rehab and releases by A Place Called Hope, Ansonia Nature Center and the Naugatuck River Revival Group.
