Whirling Dervishes Goreme, Turkey
Whirling Dervishes Goreme, Turkey May 2018 - The Mevlevi Order is a Sufi order in modern day Turkey founded by the followers of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic theologian and Sufi mystic. The Mevlevi are also known as the Whirling Dervishes due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of God). Dervish is a common term for an initiate of the Sufi path; the whirling is part of the formal Sama ceremony. In 2008, UNESCO confirmed The Mevlevi Sema Ceremony as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.[3]

DERVISHES RODOPIANTES NA TURQUIA (CAPADÓCIA)
Ritual dos dervishes rodopiantes
Water that's poured inside will sink the boat
While water underneath keeps it afloat.
Driving wealth from his heart to keep it pure
King Solomon preferred the title 'Poor':
That sealed jar in the stormy sea out there
Floats on the waves because it's full of air,
When you've the air of dervishood inside
You'll float above the world and there abide..
